Comprehensive Watch Book

All,

Looking for a book with a complete overview of wristwatches to continue my education. At the moment I am trying to stay away from books specific to a brand or complication as I feel I need more of a general education before becoming a specialist. So Moonwatch Only is on hold at the moment 馃槈. Also, not really looking for a straight horology book, but more watch mechanics. Pictures are a must as I am a twelve year old at heart.

This is my current choice, but would love to hear from anyone else before I throw down the cash:

* I searched the archives, but if I missed a thread feel free to either delete, not respond, or point me in the right direction.

Cheers

Based on your interest for general education book on watches, this is the one to get. There are a lot of great pictures too.

I'm a book collector (see avatar). While computers/phones/iPads are great, they will never compare to holding a book and turning the pages.
The Wristwatch Handbook is the coffee table book you're looking for.

I just got The Wristwatch Handbook from the library. I'm about 100 pages in or so. The pics are stunning. The general text and concepts are pretty easy to follow, but I'm finding it difficult to really get all of the details at a low level just based on the words and images. I'm not approaching it as a textbook (and it's been a while since I've been in school and studying mode), but overall I'm quite enjoying it.
