No applied logo. I know it doesn't matter for most people but for me it does. Also Omega mentions a collection in the teaser so its definitely not a one off model.

Brightened shots, looks like no date, no HEV, solid caseback and no applied logo. Seems thick but in a nice way (take note ladies 😉)

There does appear to be two watches. One of them looks a lot like the original ultra deep.

I already told my AD first one is mine; looks like which one is the question - there will be a new UD collection it seems. Please let there be a bracelet option.

edit: It appears one of those screenshots does show a bracelet! Sweet.

Haha tricky teaser... its only showing the side of the crown. At first I thought it also meant no HEV but that's still unclear, we dont see the 9-12o'clock portion of the case.

It does show the back of the watch in the beginning, which does seem to also suggest no HEV.

Took a quick crappy side profile picture of my ceramic PO and used the crown as the comparison point (assuming the crown on the UD will be the same size).

Thicc confirmed

Honest question: is there a contingent out there clamoring for thicker watches? That is, would some buyers be turned off by a thinner watch with the same capabilities? This is a bit of an aside, but it seems to be the case (no pun intended) that Omega simply cannot manufacture dive watches thinner than the current SMP diver 300. They must also / otherwise conclude that they’ll sell enough watches regardless of thickness and so there is nothing to gain by engineering them to be thinner. I find this frustrating because I’d gladly add another omega or two of they weren’t such hogs, but I really can’t justify another short-sleeves-only horological Hummer for my wrist.

For me, there is a point where I would not want a dive watch to get any thinner or else it just doesnt feel right to me. Especially if the diameter is still fairly large (42mm+).

With that said, none of Omega's dive watches are approaching that "minimum" in my mind lol. I wouldn't mind if the current POs were thinner, but at the same time I don't mind the current thickness either. I agree that the current POs (like my ceramic one) are definitely not suited for wearing under a collared shirt unless you like wearing your cuffs loose. I avoid wearing my PO (and sometimes even my GSOTM) with a shirt or under some jackets just because theyre so thick.

Here's another comparison, assuming the diameter is the same rather than assuming the crown is the same. This seems more reasonable.
If this is the case, the UD would actually have a shorter lug to lug and be a tiny bit thinner if you dont include the portion of the crystal that sticks out.

It looks like everything we never asked for and would never need.

Maybe this means I should wait a few months after release and ask for a discount then lol.
I've been asking my OB if there will be a commercial PO based on the Ultra Deep since Omega revealed the original UD.

I'm not sure if I could or would wear a standard issue Ultra Deep, but I'm glad they are making it. Same sentiment towards the ploprof.

It's overengineered because they can, not because they should. Not everything they make needs to be perfectly fashionable for the average wrist, in my opinion.

I'm overreacting here, it'll likely be a neat release with some type of interesting technology. And I'm glad your excited for what it seems it will be. I just long for a model inspired closer to the 2201.50 with updated movement tech and modern materials. Eg. a concept similar to the liquid metal PO 222.30.42.20.01.001, with the same dial or dial from a 232.15.42.21.01.001.

That era of Planet Ocean is what really got me interested in Omega to begin with. Sadly I was in highschool/college back then so I couldn't afford one of my own. I could still get one now I suppose, but I know I'll want to upgrade if Omega ever comes out with an updated master chronometer version of it. So yea I get what you mean, it would be nice for Omega to do a more simple refresh of the PO with a modern movement and thinner profile.

Well, solid caseback.

'CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER' on the bottom, it seems. Can't make out the other script besides the standard 'SEAMASTER' though.

Isn’t it lumed crown? Does that not mean it could be ceramic case?

Just polished. If it were lumed, we'd see it glowing a bright blue or green.
