it looks slimmer, with twisted, better fitting and less slabby lugs, or am i seeing things.

It is what it is.
Either way I reckon it will be thicker than some will tolerate.
I look forward to seeing how it turns out regardless. It will be interesting.
I wonder if it's going to be a strictly limited edition that's made out of the rest of the off cuts from the Submersible that went to the bottom of the trench👎

Surely they are not just going to release a niche Ultra Deep either in limited numbers or which might not attract big sales

Why not?
"They" do these things simply because "They" can, and can showcase their pinnacle achievements, also to give the punters something to aspire to whilst adding diversity to their offerings, thereby increasing opportunities to put the brand out there in new ways.
Rolex did it with the Deepsea Sea-Dweller which wasn't a particularly big seller until they added the D-Blue dial into the mix which put the watch on the map. In the early stages, people were paying a huge premium(>$3k) in the grey market to own one as opposed to the official price premium of $350, and that was for a simple dial variation.
Omega have a fairly well beaten path to special editions, so it's not implausible.
We shall see soon enough👍

Tomorrow is when the media are allowed to show them off, not sure when they will go on sell, however Omega normally do 2 x releases schedules per year with the next being around August

Someone mentioned the new models are already at OB's and AD's. They just can't display until they get the word from Omega.

If the release is indeed tomorrow, they 100% are. It's common for every new consumer product that gets released.

Well this is actually a new concept for watch companies. Used to be they would show off new releases at Baselworld and then the watches would hit the stores months later sometimes even a year. Watch companies finally caught on and learned it’s best to have product to sell immediately upon release while the hype train is still going.

To be clear though, OBs/ADs may have samples, but not actual pieces they can sell.

I know Omega did that with the small seconds Tresors last year cause I was considering them. My OB had samples for me to check out in the summer but they werent actually available for sale until the fall.

Let’s just hope they don’t follow Rolex and now even some Tudor’s and have a awaiting list and over inflated Grey Market prices

The 3861 Speedmaster was available almost immediately.

But Rolex AD's actually have models to sell on release day to their top grey market clients. They just don't have anything to sell to normal customers.

Sounds like they will release the watches over the course of the week instead of all in one day.

Omega SA, if it’s not too late… we need a slim, 40-42mm GMT sports watch released next week.

Pretty please? 😁
