I don't think we are in disagreement, as I didn't assess what would fit your wrist. 😁
I disagree with "Anecdotally, I would say the majority of the OF community agrees with you"

When I read through the planet ocean threads, and threads like this, I tend to see more people saying they prefer the 39.5 vs. 43.5.

Maybe we are reading different threads.

This forum, based on its topic, will naturally concentrate sentiments that are in disagreement with Omega's production values. More importantly, the count of active members on this forum hardly represents the actual Omega PO community, which is more accurately represented by Omega's actual sales. This forum is a tiny pond in a very big ocean. Just saying! Cheers! 👍

Agreed, and I think I was making this same point in my original post, that the OF community is not representative of the Omega PO owners as a whole.

"Anecdotally, I would say the majority of the OF community agrees with you, but the overall Omega Planet Ocean buyers do not."

This would make a potentially interesting poll.

People who like the default PO size aren't gonna bother to comment in every PO thread saying they like the default size. Its the default. As a result, yea you're probably right, you see more people saying they prefer 39.5. That's just my guess/assumption though.

You did indeed. Sorry, lost track! Just strengthening the point.

More realistically, watch size favorability is dependent on the wrist size of the person. It's like saying more people prefer size 8 shoes over size 11. What it really shows is that we have a lot of scrawny men among us with girly wrists. Must be the soy!

Wrist size comes second to fitting.

For many of my friends (and I), buying a watch entirely depending how it fits. Wrist size comes second to fitting.
Here are my Os, 38mm, 42mm, 44mm. These models fits me well, 7" wrist.
On paper 40mm is the ideal size. I tent to bang 42+ on desks and door jams more often than under 40.

Agreed, its like the usual saying that lug to lug really matters more than diameter, which can be very misleading.

I also have a 7" wrist, so I will admit that we have more options than people with 6" or so wrists.

But at the same time, I don't think it makes sense for specific watches to be certain sizes. Some dressy watches look great, but feel too small on my wrist. However, I wouldn't want the manufacturer to suddenly start making a larger version cause it just wouldn't look right.

The 39.5 PO looks off to me because of its thickness to diameter ratio, although I've never seen one in person. The original 2500 PO is probably the most ideal size in both diameter and thickness, in my opinion. I wouldnt mind if my 45.5mm PO was a bit thinner, but too thin and it'd look/feel off too.

They did, but for just 1 mm of your arbitrary personal maximum thickness spec. The first gen PO is 42 mm with a thickness of 15.5 mm and has a tapered bracelet and no fake patina. And a beautiful solid case back, in the Seamaster tradition. It is where the entire PO line began. They've been there and done that. You can buy one.
Yes, I am well aware of the first gen PO with those specs. But that is the first gen planet ocean without the micro adjusting clasp and without the modern master chronometer movement inside, without a fully graduated bezel, no ceramic dial, etc. It is a great watch, so I am not disagreeing with you on that front. My reasoning is that the first gen PO's are missing many of the modern features we have come to enjoy from the brand. I appreciate your comment and I truly see where you're coming from, I am just making the point that because that generation of Planet Ocean is widely considered to have had the best dimensions it would be nice to see a modern Planet Ocean with those dimensions, except maybe even a bit thinner and with the modern features we all enjoy. Dimensionally it fits the bill, for sure, but it doesn't quite check all the boxes that a modern PO does. To each their own though, I recognize that my opinion is not universal.

Might as well add photos. The 43.5 on rubber is tremendous. I love this watch too much to care whether it's an ideal fit, truth be told.

Every time I see pictures of the blue PO's I get closer and closer to buying a blue dialed variant over the black dial. Beautiful watch. Has the rubber been holding up well over time?

The rubber I've only had for a few weeks, (mine came with the bracelet) so time will tell. If anything, I think the stitching will fray first, which I can live with anyway.

This is the rubber strap that came with the Good Planet GMT, but fits the modern PO perfectly.

Kinda disappointed, I was hoping for another teaser today. Guess I'll wait till Monday and see what happens.

Also disappointed I haven't heard from my OB, but I did talk to my sales guy and hes currently on vacation so I dont wanna bother him.

The embargo ends on Monday so we will see the new watches then.

I might have to make a pit stop into my AD on Monday. After the purchase of my Creamsicle, I'm on the Planet Ocean train.

The newest teaser is just out:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CaupjHGjoM8/

- Hands, numbers and indices show a clear connection to the Planet Ocean family
- Saphire is clearly elevated
- The case seems to feature a crown guard (similar to the SMP300?)
- Clearly on a bracelet
- What's the case material? steel, titanium or ceramic - I can't tell...

My guess is that the PO line gets extended with a «Ultra Deep» family
