Cleaning a flat-link bracelet without an ultrasonic device?

I’ve found that using the toothbrush to clean watch parts leaves a bad taste in my mouth for a few days afterward.

So now I use my wife’s toothbrush and it doesn’t bother me near as much.

Oh, and don’t smoke for half an hour after bushing your teeth for about a week.

As for fluids, there are specific cleaning solutions for these tanks, but on the advice of a friend who is a goldsmith, I simply use Mr. clean diluted in water, and it does a great job.

In addition to electric toothbrushesI have been known to use the dishwasher, two safety pins through the spring bar holes and hook it on the basket prongs. Also used a hydro blaster (Gerni/Karcher etc). held on plastic garden mesh with pins.

I use my watch cleaning machine and the ultrasonic now.
