I posted a couple of Pictures from Tehcno Classica Essen last month, they're all now up on flickr if anyone wants to browse.

I'm Scottish and made the decsion to travel to Germany for a classic car show after seeing pictiures online for a good few years. The UK car market was very different to the european continent in the post war years (still is, but to a lesser extent) so there was completly differnet metal on display to what you'd see here.
No BL and almost no Brit stuff (just a few Big Healey, LRs and Astons), Porsche, BMW, Opel, Mercedes and Audi were well represented as were Citroen, Alfa, Maserati, Fiat, Ferrari and also various dead marques and very, very low volume such as Bitter, Borgward, Lloyd, Marathon, Gogomobil, OSCA, and Osi.

I'd highly reccomend visiting a foreign show if you come across one or traveling for one of the big ones.

The side curtain does seem to limit the use of the side mirror a bit and would tend to annoyingly flap about as you drive up the road.
Our army had some of these, they weren't very quick, but had pretty good off road capabilities.

I guess, but they offer a special organic vintage-edition from the famous french olive-oil producer LOCKHEED

I can recommend this "specificum" - had it on my bike with Lockheed-brakes:

A bit outside of this tread, but I take a chance, I think it fits on this forum; A man fastening his seat belt in 1972. In a VW beetle I guess, anyone recognise the watch?

I used to throw up frequently in that generation of beetle, will that do?

Here I'm driving on a Production Car Trial, but the upchucking came when I was navigating on road rallies with the owner driving. After retiring really sick on one event I tried anti-sickness pills but those didn't work. So the solution we came up with was to drive like hell to the start down the bumpiest roads we knew until all the contents of my stomach were on the side of the road. Then I was OK although uncomfortable for the actual event.

I quit navigating at the end of the following year after the purchase of a share in a single-seater race car.

Talking about driver's watches, always wondered what type of watch the driver of this one wears... Burberry on the outside, inside it's an awful riot of black and red leather.. Oh and it's a local motor..

But without the protective coating it will start to rust.
