Hello Omegoids,
I've been fascinated by these for some time, especially the very different looking "fontana" model custom made for Di Marchi in Italy. Made in 1969-70 They're rounder and have a similar screw in strap fitting to the Dynamics of the period.. I've scanned eBay Italy for a long time and tomorrow or the next day I'm getting a Greyburst De ville Chronostop in great nick for a silly cheap price. Yes, they did do a De Ville model. Omega apparently only ever produced 61,000 920 movements and they were only used in Chronostops ,so a Deville Chronostop in an unusual 41mm case is a bit of a rarity. I wonder if it'll come before I fly out on Friday....Will post pics here....

Looking forward to those pics!

Is that the same De Marchi as in the Italian cycling wear manufacturer? I knew of this Italian Chronostop, but I wasn't aware it was made for that company!

doh, seem to have posted the pics twice..sorry bout that. I don't know if di marchi is the cycling team and I don't know who "fontana' were inasmuch as they could get Omega to provide a totally different style Chronostop using the Dynamic unicloc wristband system. I've tried to do as much research online as possible but don't really get anywhere..the interest in Chronostops is comparatively very small, but given the ubiquity of Speedsters I'd put money on the value skyrocketing in the coming decades. 1 million Dynamics were sold in this period, but a total of only 185,000 Chronostops were ever made from 68-70 (both styles cal 865 and 920). There are a few pre 68 chronostop seamsters but then that's it!

No wrist shot, but a "fun fact" is that these italian chronostops are using the same band attachment as the Omega Dynamic from the late 60s.
Just had to try it out on a leather strap, and I was rather pleased with it. Wears remarkably well.

Thanks for that! Actually, I was going to ask if anyone had tried the Italian on a Dynamic strap. What a coincidence!

Slightly off topic, but I've got a square Geneve that uses the Dynamic bracelet (or strap) even though it's not strictly from the Dynamic range:

Does the drivers one feel weird to wear if you don't usually wear a watch in that manner? I reckon it'd bash it about to0 much.
