Guys!

I did some searching on Chrono24 looking for some watches (I know that its stupid....😲),
but I had a boring phone conferences....

And I found this sale about a Submariner:
https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/rolex-submariner-5513-meters-first--id26892660.htm

The thing is that the seller has a loooong text about the watch etc, and it sounds really professional,
but the dude has stolen the context from other serious people!
In this case it is from 5513mattedial.com.
The author of this website has done tons of work, and the Chronoseller just copies the text!

Am i just overacting or what?
Had he done this in Sweden, i would have called him and told him a piece or two!!:whipped:

Foto nr 1 is from Chrono, and nr 2 is from 5513mattedial.

Do you not know that internet is supposed to be free, in particular that copyrights are moot? 😲 Just making fun.

Last year I sold a pocket watch via eBay. It went under value, thats life. The buyer offered it two weeks later for more. That would not have disturbed me. But he used my detailed text and my photos, absolutely no own contribution (except of the limit). When I contacted him and kindly asked him to write an own text and make own photos, he replied that he did not know how to open the watch and asked for my assistance in this respect, obviously a real expert 🙄 😁. I educated him and he then indeed cancelled his offer and relisted it with a revised text and own photos ... 😁. At least he reacted insofar positive and not just rude ...

Cheers, Bernhard

I don't think you are over reacting at all, the website 5513mattedial.com had a clear © symbol with the creators name next to it at the bottom of the page. Although this may not be worth anything legally, I feel that the C24 seller should recognise this and at least credit the author in his sales post. I would steer well clear of this type of seller.

This is so common, that if I see any fairly detailed description of a watch (except from @Tony C.), I can virtually guarantee that it is plagiarized. Next time you see a good description on C24 or eBay, just pick a long distinctive phrase and paste it into Google.

IMO, it's definitely a sign of the sort of flipper/pseudo-dealer that you need to be careful with.

If the seller is that lazy that could not write a nice short review of the piece on sale, IMHO talks a lot about his/her work ethic.

always stick to the principle .. caveat emptor
I had to google…

Caveat emptor is a common law doctrine that places the burden on buyers to reasonably examine property before making a purchase. A buyer who fails to meet this burden is unable to recover for defects in the product that would have been discovered had this burden been met.
