Chief. Yeah, I thought the same wen I read those posts.

I was lucky to have only had to wear them a few times. I thought the fit & pockets were great, it was just the idea of blue & gray digicam that I found distasteful. Was that so we could hide in the ocean? Seriously... what a dumb idea. The other idiocy was having those issued to everyone, including everyone in the brown water Navy and the Seabees, all of whom wear CUUs anyway. So we all had shiny blueberries we literally never wore. Wasteful.

Putting my logical and fiscal concerns aside, I thought they looked ok, and let the blue-water Navy experience the same comfort and utility in a uniform I was accustomed to.

@ChiefMark [ and @alam ]...while we’re talking about mil issued stuff...if you dudes were issued a mil watch, I’ll have a hissy fit right here on the internet. Why? Because I wasn’t issued a mil watch in 1986 when I entered mil service...and if I wasn’t issued a mil watch, then you shouldn’t have been issued one either. 😉

I wasn’t issued the watch upon entrance to military service. I was issued the watch later while forward deployed. Casio DW-6600. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a Tudor or a Hamilton. I still wore my Seiko 5 more often.

Edit: Holy crap dude, you kept everything! I scanned all my crap in and put it on a thumb drive.

Not issued a watch either. But it would have been considered FOD or spark hazard, so probably could not have worn it.

Mad Dog
Give us your take on the Icelandic Airlines deciding to fire all their stewardesses and flight attendants. They state that the pilots are to take over those duties.
First thing that came to mind was Mad Dog telling some old lady to get her own (blanking) diet coke.

I remember during the early 00’s when Krispy Kreme over expanded...

My son gave me an interesting perspective on this. Apparently, Krispy Kreme was making most of their money renting out space in their delivery trucks, that is delivering packages when not delivering donuts (which only happened in the early morning). Amazon started up their own delivery service and took away all of KKs business.

@Mad Dog , my BII list did not include a watch, the best I was able to muster was a discount from the local base exchange 😀

I had a small amount of Krispy Kreme stock years ago. The stock tanked and there was a class action lawsuit where I got a check for around $50. Apparently they were counting donuts produced as donuts sold. As I later found out most donuts end up in the dumpster and less than 50% are actually sold. Some creative accounting on their part to manipulate stock prices
