I would like to get a Ck859 later this year.

Do you need to have a purchase history with and Ad or a boutique in order to get one?

Thank you.

Highly unlikely, it's a numbered edition and they will be happy to sell to anyone.

Shouldn’t have to…Omega isn’t Rolex, they are quite happy to sell watches to people…
(Think they are boutique only though)

Good to know thank you.

Have they been hard to find?
Not really. I've been to the Houston OB last week and a Paris OB in May and both had them.

My local ad has one in the window. These aren’t hard to find at all. Lovely watch

Fortunately, these were not released with much fanfare. More importantly, Omega built up production prior to releasing them in April. You can acquire one from OBs or ADs.

With these options, I would highly recommend that you pursue the OB avenue and start to establish a relationship with one if you haven’t already done so. This will be critical if you desire a potential future LE releases. I’ve learned this the hard way regarding the Ed White!

I guess I am in the wrong place. I was told this guy is a hot item and a hard get. No discounts and a long wait on a list if you can even get on said list. I heard zero discounts as well. If anyone has a hookup, please and thank you?

Omega has been pushing back on ADs with respect to discounts. There have been multiple posts on various forums regarding this. I would not expect any since this is a hot item. But, as I previously stated, Omega appears to have produced quite a few before it was released. With increased popularity and demand, there may be a wait, but nothing like an Ed White or Snoopy.

P.S. I saw one in the display case at my local AD last weekend.

Thanks for the insight. Good tidbits to know. I saw a few people say they got discounts but doesn't seem to be widespread. I have a good relationship with my AD and a few purchases. Was surprised to hear how big of a hit this one is when he shut me down for any discounts. Is it true that this guy won't be produced for very long, as far as you have heard? Thanks again.

Watch manufacturers never reveal their production plans for any particular watch, much depends on how well it sells. If it's a hit and they can prevent a lot of discounting they'll continue to make it. Once it gets to be a slow seller they will discontinue it. Nobody knows when that will happen.

This is a Numbered Edition, not a Limited Edition. So, basically this means Omega will stop production when they want to. With respect to when, your guess is as good as mine. But Omega has to realize they have a big hit on their hand!

Now Omega is no Rolex. What I mean by that is that most of us who collect Omega pieces are true horology enthusiasts. Your "Average Joe" will not readily recognize Omega. In your case, you're competing with fellow enthusiasts to obtain a CK 859. Rolex on the other hand has decades of marketing campaigns where practically everyone knows Rolex. So, we are competing with enthusiasts and those who want to celebrate success and show of their success with the purchase of a Rolex.

With inflation spiraling out of control and signs of a possible recession, it's only a matter of time when people start to be much more cautious with discretionary spending, which will continue to steadily decrease. All that money people saved up during COVID lockdowns will be depleted. IMHO Omega would be wise to take advantage of this opportunity as long as possible with the CK 859 and other popular pieces.

Outstanding. Thank you both for the input. I guess no hunting for a deal and just grab one now. Appreciate the help.

I was not expecting a discount on this one. Omega prices have gone up in the used market. Since no discount is to be had it makes the purchase at the boutique easier to swallow. Hopefully it will still be easy to track down by the end of the summer.

Yea weird business decision, willingly selling watches to people in exchange for money but that’s Omega’s policy. No applications, bribes or chainsaw juggling required. It’s almost like they don’t hate their customers or something.

Omega is still honing their craft, they have gone from 'Limited Editions' to 'Numbered Editions', and the supply of a few watches like the Snoopy and the Ed White 321 seem to be well manipulated in the Rolex style. Omega wants to be a lot more like Rolex, but they aren't there yet. But they would be very happy to have long waits for many of their watches, just like Rolex. If they could make a wait for a Speedmaster similar to the Daytona they would do it in a New York minute.

These are definitely available -- I was shopping for a different piece a few weeks ago and all three of the Omega ADs I visited had at least one of the 859s. The largest of these ADs made sure to point out that they could not offer discounts on this or any of the more desirable Speedies, SMPs or ATs , but that's to be expected on a watch with high demand.

It is an absolutely stunning watch in the metal -- does wear larger than I'd expected, but so much going on in that dial, and all of it good.

Seems like there are a few readily available to buy but I wouldn't know how long that'll be the case
