Caught a fresh Stingray

With the recent arrival of my 145.024, I kicked off a search for a fitting original bracelet, a 1171/175. And with a bit of luck and creative searching, I found one almost immediately. There was just one catch: the bracelet was attached to another watch 馃槑馃槑馃槑

Now, I鈥檓 usually pretty restrained when it comes to watch buying. Lots of window shopping, reading, hemming, hawing. But once I realized this funky looking beast, the 166.121 Stingray, was priced similarly to what some folks were asking for a loose bracelet, I pulled the trigger. Much to my, very pleasant, surprise, the watch arrived on my doorstep in less than 3 days from purchase, all the way from Japan

So there you have it: two Omega arrivals in my first week of collecting them, and oddly complementary in looks. I don't think I could've found a more 70's sci-fi pair! Next, I'll take both to my watchmaker for assessment, possible movement and bracelet service, and to swap strap and bracelet between the two.

I love it when a plan comes together. Your chrono is going to look like a million bucks on that bracelet, and when you learn to swap the bracelet and strap yourself, you鈥檒l double the number of variations on those two handsome slabs of 70s funk.

I'm usually fine/confident with strap swaps. But between failing eyesight, tight end links and an original case on the flat Jedi, I'm going to defer to the pros on this one 馃榾

My post came out more supercilious than I intended. I saw too late from your other photos that you鈥檙e not new to watches.
