Can you please help me legit check these watches?

Hi all, I recently dug through a pile of watches and grabbed up a few I thought looked neat (and may restore as needed). I found out at least 2 of them (a Vacheron and Omega TDMP) are fake, so wanted to see if ya'll could help me legit check the rest of them. I can take more photos as needed too!

And a secondary question, anyone know where I can sell Omegas (and other vintage watches from 40s-70s) in bulk? I don't have the expertise to comb through all of them. Some are working... some aren't working. There's probably ~300 watches in total. Thansk!

Mate that’s a bit too many watches in one hit lol

They’re all real, several are in lesser condition and several have badly refinished (repainted) dials that severely degrade their value, #2 is probably my favorite out of the lot.

As far as unloading them, ebay.com is your best bet, they don’t have fees for sellers now so list the whole lot no reserve and you should get market rate.

sorry, I didn't want to spam multiple threads for each watch. appreciate your feedback though!

which ones do you suspect are re-dials?

Most of those appear original but as @dsio says, many have issues such as repainted dials, over polished cases etc.

With respect, members are happy to help people identify and assess one or two watches but I think it’s stretching it a bit to ask for members to help you ID and assess a large number, especially if you’re looking to sell them (for a profit).

The best thing to do is list them in no reserve auctions on eBay with plenty of his res images and an honest description saying they’re sold as seen, please see pictures for condition.

For what it’s worth, if I was going to keep one, it’d be the second. That’s nice.

So we’re more here to help collector who are wanting to find a watch to wear choose one to buy, vetting a whole collection for someone to flip isn’t something we do, but yea taking high quality photos of all and listing them no reserve is by far the best way to sell them. EBay is full of redials anyway, let the buyers decide what they want.

I really appreciate both of your inputs. Sorry, I wanted to clarify, the watches above I intend to keep in my collection, and wanted to ensure they were authentic so I didn’t put money into restoration for something fake.

The other 300’or so watches aren’t pictured, but my family wanted help getting rid of them because they’ve been taking up space in storage for 30+ years. I guess you could say it’s for money but definitely not for profit? we’re trying to clear space instead of extract top dollar and price gouge. For example, we went door to door to small watch shops to ask if they bought old watches in bulk. Most said no, but one chose out 10 omegas and gave us $50 each. I think that’s a reasonable (if not low) price for them as is.

So several of the Omegas pictured here are still in the $500-1000 range, even some of the re-dials, $50 is incredibly cheap especially if a mechanical. Of the Omega’s above, #2 would be the one to keep and wear with #4 as a backup if it were me, the other brands I’m not really into so can’t speak to

Very briefly (and bear in mind it’s hard to properly assess a watch from one photo).
These are the prices I’d expect from a no reserve auction in the UK, not what a dealer etc will pay you. Obviously you may get more or less.

1. Redial £200
2. Nice and seems original £600-700
3. Seems original £350
4. Redial £200
5.???
6. Redial £200
7. Redial £200
8. Tudor???
9. Tudor???
10. JLC???
11.Tudor???
12. Black omega redial £250-350

Sorry I’m about done there. Might be worth starting a separate thread on the second to last Omega.

If you have an Omega watch you want to keep- make a new post here for the one watch following these guidelines as posted above.

Good high resolution photos as instructed will help- including inside of movement and inside caseback if you can open the watch. If not take to jeweler or watchmaker who can open without damaging case.

For the large batch, you will likely do better by selling them individually on ebay with unreserved auctions starting at 0.99. You can use the same selling template and change the specifics for each one. Good photos will maximize return, and just sell them as found with no guarantees. Indicate running or not. Indicate you are selling a large batch (?from watchmaker estate or whatever applies) and buyers will watch out for your listings. Dont clean or service them just give acccurate description of condition with good photos buyers will decide. Good luck!
