Unless she meant something about going to Louisiana or to church, she must have gotten an offer she couldn't refuse from "the pawn shop".
Something here just doesn't seem "honest" about the original post.
I feel cheated and used.

Thanks Norm. With Steve's look at the IP addresses, it's pretty good circumstantial evidence that Rebecca and the pawn shop are probably the same entity. Doesn't make me any warmer & fuzzier towards pawn shops, you know? They don't have a great reputation for a reason. Too bad for the good ones.
BTW, the IP addresses trace to Bradenton, Florida - just south of Clearwater / Tampa area. Wouldn't be too hard for somebody who spends a lot of time at spring training games to pay "Rebecca" a visit and repay the chain jerking. 馃榿

The eBay listing also is from Bradenton, so I think you've cracked the case wide open, Lt. Columbo.
When you get there, you may find that Rebecca looks like this:

I think there is more chance on 'non respectable member' Rebecca selling that watch for 2k than finding any information on the piece its self. As for her late husband we don't even know if he existed let alone the franken watch by Omega!

Maybe there's a floating population of this particular rare model.
To me the whole thing sounds perfectly logical and can be easily explained.
Anyway, I have to rush off, there's a bloke coming around to show me how to make millions without even trying.
