That was the first thing that caught my eye.
Is this a thing of interest, or something strange?

Something strange, the double crossed T's are from the earlier references.

I'd guess maybe a redialled 2943

I’ll try for better photos... no lume. Just gold batons.

the “n’s” look wrong in Constellation

but still a very nice heirloom with a great bracelet

Do go on! *bats eyelashes*
It doesn't have to be only Omega to show & tell here. 👍

I love the piece you presented already, the bracelet is fantastic. I hope you plan to wear it!

Any help is welcomed... I just would love to know more about the watch. I’ve had it for several years, and have not seen anything exactly like it.

I have no reason to think it is not genuine, simply because my Grandfather, in his day, was affluent and loved buying watches. He had many watches, so I cannot see him going out of his way to modify one, at least after the point of original purchase, but I may be wrong.
If the dial was damaged at any point then it may have been repainted or replaced with a service dial. Your grandfather would probably not have had anything to do with that. A similar situation may have existed with the hands. That would hurt the resale value these days amongst collectors but it doesn't sound like that will be important to you.

Great watch and bracelet👍. Good luck.

Cheers, Chris

Does that fond exist?

I haven’t seen this connection of the i to the o before - no expert here, it sure looks different than on my 2852s, but I thought I’d point it out for others to chime in.

I’ve found this online, which looks similar I think (in my inexperience)

But, as someone has already pointed out, the chronometer is spelled differently in that vintage of watch...

In your picture, the t is connected to the bottom of the i, while on your watch the line goes from the t right to the top of it.

Well, I have nothing more to show . My father was given the beaten up watches. His eldest brother got the good stuff.

Gilt text printing looks pretty good though. Maybe a 2943 with a newer (service?) dial? Regardless its a cool piece 😀

Nice watch and great to inherit such a thing. I just had my old speedy serviced by Simon Freese, as recommended by OF members. He’s down in Essex and I’m based in the North West (actually in Scotland myself right now though) but I spoke with him on the phone first and then posted the watch to him. I’m extremely happy with what he did and price was very reasonable. I’ve just sent my great grandfathers pocket watch to him and have another watch for service once that’s returned.

I believe we can qualify your Omega as "the good stuff" too!

'50's gilt print sample from our constellation.

So how do y'all decide on who wears "our Constellation"?

Coin flip? Two out of three take downs?

Maybe Fred is using the royal ‘we’.

Well I never really thought much about the "we" thing as both my wife and I were watch collectors long before I met her. As a matter of fact we were competitors. Anyways constellations and most watches I like are too small for her tastes so she is never inclined to wear them. She goes for the big stuff.
