Sorry it’s a fake.
As Norman said above....... but I was wondering if perhaps Nana had a sense of humor and is chuckling right about now!

Condolences on her passing.

They sure went to a lot of trouble to fake these integrated bracelet watches.

It is amazing how much society has changed in the last 70 years. Even the last 30. I used to wear my cocktail watches to the Opera and other social activity. Now with everything being dress casual, there really is no need for such items.

These were never everyday watches. My preference has been for the larger dials, in what is called unisex watches. The 27mm and smaller. These though were considered men's dress watches when new.

These days I find myself wearing my phone on my wrist. Dick Tracy style.

I have to respectfully disagree. I wear mine in almost any situation (not mowing the lawn though) 😉. Also very satisfying to watch the news in my sweats with a bit of dazzle on the wrist. Never been to the opera though 😁

Yours isn’t a cocktail watch.

Actually I think it might be since it is the smaller size SM, like 31mm or something. I'd put that in the cocktail category personally.

If and when you damage that delicate bracelet you may indeed regret wearing it to mow the lawn. Repairs can be eye watering for those and very few can do them.

Many things but the main one is that it claims to be gold when it is not. Solid Gold doesn't wear to silver colour on the edges. Look at the clasp picture, note the edge wear. That is the plate coming off. What you have is worthless.

There is no wear to silver- I believe that’s the lighting when taking the photo

Take it in to a gold buyer and ask for an offer. You will very quickly see what I mean. There are many other tells but the most pertinent one is that it isn't actually gold unfortunately. We see these all the time. There is no way whatsoever this is a) Omega output or b) solid gold.

All the best to you!

I’m not sure I’d describe 31mm as a cocktail watch, either.

So, you came here to ask if it is real, and you’ve been told it is not real! Now it seems you are grasping at signs that you think mean that it might be real, and that we might be wrong. Believe those above. It is absolutely, unequivocally, a fake, and a bad one at that. Wishing won’t make it come true!

Wear it with fond memories and when you are out and about with it, 99.9999% will not know or care if it is solid or not and fake or not.

My definition of cocktail is less than 8mm. More jewelry than watch. The Op watch is borderline. More like something to wear to a bridge party or church potluck. @kwh81 watch is unisex or gents dress, what would be worn to a poker night, bowling ally, or lodge meeting.

No one is grasping at anything- if you have nothing positive or nice to say keep your opinions to yourself please. I came to ask if it was real or fake and accepted it was fake when told so no need to voice nasty opinions as to how you think I feel- stick to fact you actually know and don’t be nasty to people you don’t even know. This is a site for asking for advice not giving abuse and I have respected what people have advised

Seems to me that, after you were told that the case and bracelet finish showed traces of wearing through, you had difficulty accepting that your fake Omega, could be fake. Accept it!
