New watch collector here learning the ropes and starting to build up some pieces. A long-time OF member, Dr. Sascha, has always spoken highly of the community here and encouraged me to join.

So here is my question: I have been eyeing a watch billed as a 60's Zodiac Automatic GMT Diver and was wondering how much variation there is on the dials. Below the crosshair symbol it reads Zodiac and beneath that Automatic. In all the examples of Zodiac Aerospace and Seawolf I can find, the model name is always below Zodiac and Automatic is below the central pivot.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Nice looking watch, Welcome.

Lots of variation on the dials. All models with Zodiac. Fonts look good on this one.

I agree. I haven't seen that variant, but it doesn't give me any concern.

Can't say I've seen that before, but do agree the dial looks good and fonts look good. Legit Zodiac dial I would say. Some other Zodiac models had that size and shape with the date window, so I don't know if it's possible that it came off a non-gmt zodiac or something. I have no evidence for that but just a thought if you're searching around.

Thanks for sharing. It's helpful to see the variety of designs in the Zodiac family.

Something to note, the second hand is missing the lume as is the GMT hand (or has gone very dark at the tip). Dial has some minor damage/ discoloration and the bezel is starting to delaminate. None are big issues- a relume to match the other hands is easy and the delimitation won’t progress unless you leave it on the dash of your car- but should be considered in the price. Otherwise it’s in nice shape and with un-dented bezel which is rare. I would want to see pics of the sides and back before agreeing to a price.

I sourced this as non-working example from auctions, got it fixed, got a bracelet for it and then sold it for what I paid for it 😀

Has this thread morphed from a question about a GMT to a Zodiac showcase? Classic OF. 😁

I sure hope it has.

Recent pick up. Fondled it for two days before sending it off for service. Looks good except for small scratches along the track. (Plus 12hr reset but that can be fixed.) Kept good time so that's something.
