Thanks I really like the taper from 20 to 16 The fitted bracelet is 20 to 18 but I prefer the larger taper.

I purchased this new from a local AD in 2008 and it was my first Omega watch. It is still my favorite post 1970 Seamaster design. I was looking at the Bond watch and PO but I think I made the right choice. I have the bracelet but on the advice of my watchmaker, I put on a a chocolate brown strap. He was right - the brown and black go great together.

I change straps a lot but always come back to the OEM rubber strap, looks great and wears well IMO.

That strap was for a later model than the 2254.50 but it fits well and looks good!

Before I sold mine which I regret, I wore it on a black rubber strap bought from Etsy quite cheap but decent quality.

New in the house:

Beautiful!!!::psy:: Looks better than any strap dedicated to 1120 SMP.
How is the fit?
Is it Omega strap or aftermarket?

It is an original Omega strap. I think it looks really good! and i am very happy with the purchase! 馃憤

The fit is fine, it seems (from fotos) that it sits a bit lower (~1mm) than on the modern Seamaster 300m. but honestly, i dont care, i dont notice it 馃榾

So just a little update.
Just to make clear there was no "magic" involved while fitting the strap, i took it off and measured the spring bars and refitted the strap.
It seems the watchmaker at the AD reused my old omega spring bars 1.8x20(19.5)mm that is used for the ss bracelet, so standard one does fit here.
However while fitting the strap it doesnt just slip in to the hole but does require some effort puting it inside, so the fit is rather tight! I dont know how it affects the strength of the spring bar on the long run.. but i will surely keep using this strap nonetheless! 馃憤

These are lovely and seem very much a cult watch. Can I ask why Omega made this variant from the bond SMP 300? It seems a bold departure?

What is the lug width on these too?
