Thank you so much.

This watch is going in to Seiko for service and they had parts for the date mechanism so that`s going to be sorted. They did not know if they could get a new crystal and all the gaskets how ever. Main thing is that the 50 year old oils gets changed so it dont destroy it selves.

NOS crystals, 325T02AN, are an easy pick up on ebay or yahoo japan and I'm sure they'd have gaskets that would fit the back and pusher, if not kits are available. The crown o-ring isn't worth the effort of changing as it's built-in, best to buy a replacement 55W06N crown and hope the rubber is still good. Even then I wouldn't let it anywhere near that lovely looking pool.
Birth month watches are pretty cool, my white and black 4005's are both 88's my birth month August 1968.

I am surprised to hear that Seiko will service these and will curious to know how that goes and if you are willing to share, what you paid. There are a small handful of watch makers I am aware of that will service these.

They estimated NOK 5500,- or $515 or 479 euro. Its the Optura Seiko service centre in Norway. They could not guarantee the water resistance after the service, witch is totally understandable.

Looking very sharp @hen, nice empty goodie bag too, looks like they only changed the date driving wheel and finger. Good news you've found a new crystal they really do make such a difference 👍

Tanks. Under a magnifier the dial, hands and markers are flawless. The lume is rater bad, but i guess its 1970 standard.

The Bellmatic was wrapped up as a Christmas present and of course it stopped and now the date and day is wrong. There seems like it does not have a quick change date, should there be one? Or a way to change day date at all, how do I change it?

If she just waited one day with wrapping it up!

Very nice pick up, looks all original and should have the horseshoe case back to match the dial. (EDIT: Oh I see you got this a little while ago and now have it back from servicing. Congrats!)

Push the alarm button in to change the date. The day requires pulling the time setting crown all the way out and running it past midnight, until the date/time change, then immediately roll it backwards to around 8pm, then back forward past midnight. That will bring the day of the week forward. HTH
