Broken Speedmaster

Please stop overwhelming me with the extensive details about the situation with your watch - I just can't handle the incredible volume of information you are giving me!! LOL!

I work on Speedmasters all the time, and I likely touch one 5 days out of every 7 days that I work. It takes a lot to "break" one, so I can't really take your post very seriously if you are unwilling to give any details...

Good luck.

Cheers, Al
Fine, have it your way

I see you are from NL, I don't know where you are based but I have a very good watchmaker who works on a lot of Omegas. If you like I can give you his details.

Chris
Yes, please. Very kind of you.

Why thank you - I appreciate you letting me have my own opinions. Still waiting for some details, and until then it seems you are just a troll.

Cheers, Al

Wrapping the thread up: it's been an interesting and educating 24 hours.
First of all: did anyone watch the Olympic skating event at Sotchi? Omega keeps time there. Yesterday there was discussion at the men's 500 meters about who was first and who was second. Lucky for me they were both Dutch! Today at the women's 500 meters the starting gun misfired. The whole world now knows what crappy products come from Omega Switzerland. It serves them well.

Thanks various people for assuring me the watch can be repaired at less costs than 620 euros. I will consider repairing it, even though that changes nothing to the fact that it is still a seriously overpriced, crappy piece. Thanks especially to Archer, who is a Omega Qualified Watchmaker. He repairs 5 broken speedmasters every week. That's 260 disappointed Omega customers per year. Mind you: this only concerns the model Speedmaster. Omega has many more models that apparently break down after a couple of years. Archer, if you ever want to slow down to spend more time with your family, consider becoming a Seiko Qualified Watchmaker.
That's all folks!
Thanks again!

Pretty sure Al did not say "he repairs 5 broken Speedmasters every week" and said something more like "he services 5 Speedmasters every week." Two very different statements IMHO.🙄

Yep, it's confirmed - you're a troll.

And "service" is MUCH different than "repair". ALL BRANDS of mechanical watches require servicing.

Now go back to your battery powered assaults on horology and leave us alone.

I was going to quote that'd but wasn't sure it would travel. For those that haven't heard it, it was a nickname earned in the 60s and 70s due to the fact that Lucas lights and electrics failed so often... especially amongst motorcyclists.

Former Triumph Spitfire owner here.

I'm sure every british leyland victim has seen this.

And if you think Lucas is bad, try dealing with Vickers. I'm sure they were invaluable at the Battle of Britain, but since then, not so much.

It's more fun to watch him embarrass himself more and more with each post.

He might even get so desperate for a reaction that he'll start talking about Rolex 😜
