Thank you! I currently have a FOIS (same lug width). Was really trying to justify NOT buying a 321, but have failed miserably. 😀

Lug width is 19mm

Some have changed hands on the FOIS to try to convince themselves that they have some sort of Ed White replica. It doesn't work, the 321 EW is a unique animal, mechanically of course, but also visually.

Obviously no one has a crystal ball capable of predicting the future, but are the values of the 321 only likely to keep going up and up... even from current 'grey market' prices?

My prediction is the price could either go up, down, or stay the same.

After a myriad of failed attempts over the last three years, I’m ecstatic to share that I’ve finally taken delivery of my Ed White:😁

To say that it took a substantial amount of effort, perseverance, and dedication would be an understatement! Let’s just say that I don’t take it very well when I’m told, “No!” It must be the fact that I’m blessed when Italian genes (i.e. stubborn tenacity)! 😉

It only took 164 Speedy Tuesdays before I finally received the call after it was announced on the first Speedy Tuesday of 2020 (Jan 7th). I was in Kansas City on the final week of a client engagement when I got the call from the OB. I got home a little after midnight on Saturday, slept for a few hours, and then was back on a plane!

I am fortunate enough to share your joy as I just took delivery of my Ed White 321 this past week. It is soooo stunning in person and on the wrist. The bezel is gorgeous, as are all the other features. I had no hesitation in paying the full retail price, especially when I am told no more will likely hit St. Louis before the end of 2023. Everyone on waiting lists, hang in there. The wait is worth it!

@Mach very nice, congrats. I've had mine almost a year now, the Ed White 321 is at the top of the heap of steel Speedmasters made in the last few decades, everything done just right.

Great thing is that now you can find the Ed White 321 for close to retail price on the secondary market when you include taxes.

Asking price for that one was $17,500:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=893499

And here's another one. Asking price is $18k:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=894688

I wonder where this is heading. Prices took a dive these past few weeks.
I don't think the prices are changing much at all, certainly not diving. Prices on C24 have been pretty steady, I check them every week or so just to see what's out there. The $17.5k one is now 'pending' on TRF so that is probably a good indicator for a mint used example, still well above retail. Retail now in the US is $14,600 so after nominal sales taxes (say 8%) you are in the $15,800 range. For a BNIB one they are still in the $20k range on the low end on the grey market, a couple of thousand less for a minty used one. I bought a fully stickered BNIB Ed White 321 in March 2022 off a European seller here on OF for $18,800 delivered, based on that I would say prices are pretty steady. I don't think these will ever drop below retail for well kept examples.

321... launch....I could not wait any longer.... Its been a stretch but opportunity knocked and this has been a grail watch hunt for me a few years now. I am glad I kept my powder dry (mostly) last year. I dont think I would ever have got an original in the condition I wanted, plus I dont have the best eye for all the fine details unlike a lot of team OF. Vintage inspired, ceramic bezel, Ed White, Gene Cernan and NASA qualification tests.... all boxes ticked for me on this one and no worries about sending it in for an Omega service. I just need to ensure I live long enough to make this vintage for me now :0). I love it / could not be happier....

Prices do seem to be staying in that range. I doubt it's going to change that much more unless HQ starts cranking them out.

You also have to consider the vintage market/ demand and inflation, so it is a bit more nuanced. I suspect they will bring in a new model rather than increase production. The number of watchmakers may also be a limiting factor here. Hopefully the reduction in automated industrialisation and an increased sales / service need encourages more hands on training.
