The plot continues to thicken.

So everyonwe saying Omega changes C's to a D is mistaken? Where did that 'rumor' come from?
Never heard a C to a D before... B's can be upgraded to C's, and I thought A's got swapped up...

Sorry, this is completely false. The 2500 movements are simply not "upgraded" like you are suggesting.

To change a B to a C would involve major parts swapping - almost the entire movement. Main plate is different, barrel bridge is different, balance cock is different, mainspring is different, barrel is different, some train wheels are different, pallet fork is different, co-axial wheel is different, even the balance is completely different (the balance staff has different diameter pivots to the B).

It's simply not done...

I'm beginning to understand; the only real reason to get a D over a B or a C is to avoid threads like this.

LOL!!!😁 I guess I don't understand my ABC's. 😕😕😝

What a score! But no, definitely keep the strap. In fact get all the straps! The rubber strap from the 8500 series fits this watch great (I have one on mine right now). It also looks amazing on pretty much any NATO as well as the sharkproof mesh strap and the black gator strap that came on the gold version. And as luck would have it, the gator strap that comes on the 8501 CeraGold also fits (and looks great. I swapped mine over to see).

I absolutely love my 2500. I feel like it will be one of those Omega's that will still look fantastic 50 years from now. Great purchase - congrats!!!

Wow Archer, you're truly an encyclopaedia when it comes to Omegas! I love it when people who actually know their stuff provide real insights and answers to questions, unlike the usual speculation you see on forums. [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

My head hurts. ::facepalm1::

But seriously, I love my watch. Love it. I had a hell of a time getting the bracelet off (man that was a bitch) and have tried it on a NATO and am currently on a silicon strap. Neither can compare t the bracelet. My sister has told me to ditch the "shit" straps and get the bracelet back in place.

I know it is easy to get ALL wrapped up in the C vs D drama. Having owned my PO LMLE for about a year, I've past which varient it is and simply enjoy wearing it. Actually it is my daily wearer, even though I have a SubC, Panerai and Breitling. I do not care if it gets desk diving marks, etc. I bought it to wear.

Point being.....try your best to move past the whole C vs D drama and simply enjoy every minute wearing and owning it. As been said in the past, the PO2500's are awesome timepieces. Trust me I owned a PO8500 and quickly flipped it after 6-months for the PO LMLE.

Wear in good health......FWIW

I had a truly hard time believing that the same (2500D) movement could come with two different parts (different datewheels). I don't trust anybody besides Archer to give me infallible information, whether on a forum or in-store. I imagine people from omega just say the POs are all 2500D because that was the last version of the PO released. I'm sure they wouldn't want that stigma to become a company-endorsed one, and telling everyone they have a 2500D is possibly their way of sweeping it under the rug. And rightfully so, imho. It's their product and brand, and as the C and D are not different in any functional way, who cares? The only thing they'll tell you for sure is you dont have an 8500 or 8900 😀

I have the same watch as you, two level coax escapement and all, and I love it. Enjoy yours too! It tells great time no matter what calibre movement it is.

Granted this is a 42mm PO 2500, the new style mesh looks really great and is very comfortable.

I love that mesh, but the clasp is SO BIG! Too big for me. It felt massive and would make me nuts while typing. 😵‍💫

Congrats on your 2500 (C or D). I bought the last BNIB 2500 PO from my local dealer a while back and I've enjoyed the watch immensely. I believe I have a D according to the date font/etc. but, whatever, the watch runs and looks great regardless of which version is ticking inside.

Nice work dropping in the new clasp - well done. I've thought about for my 8500 but not sure for 2500.

Am waiting on the delivery of the clasp for my 2500. Looks amazing in all the photos I've seen.

That is a complete OEM Omega mesh bracelet. What is nice is that it has links that can be added or removed for fit, plus the clasp can be fine tuned for daily adjustment. It looks heavy, but wears great and very comfortable.

The serial of my 42mm is 4 million later than that I am fairly sure mine is a 2500C. Of course they may have transitioned the 45mm over earlier but I doubt it.
