Left work a little early today to stop at my local AD to look and talk watches. Ended up leaving with a beauty. I’ve been looking at Aqua Terra’s for a few weeks and wanted to see them in person. Tried on a few with bracelets and straps and then I saw it. Hiding in plain sight near the middle of the display case. Once it was on my wrist it was coming home with me, simple as that. Next step was to talk about price. I took out my phone, pulled up a website selling the same reference and asked if they would match it. He pulled up the same site on his phone and walked into the back to ask the store manager. He came out with a smile on his face and said congratulations on your new watch!

Sorry for the long winded post, but I’m very happy with my new acquisition and first new Omega watch. So here is my new “special occasion only” watch:

    Seamaster Aqua Terra Reference 220.12.41.21.06.001

If you’re on the fence about it I can assure you, if you buy it, you won’t be disappointed. Feels great and looks awesome.

Congrats on your purchase! Question is the strap leather or a type of plastic rubber difficult to tell looking at it on my phone. Also if Rubber would be curious of your thoughts after you have had time to wear it awhile.

Congratulations! The combination of the grey dial with blue hands really make for one great looking watch.

Thank you! It is a rubber strap. Personally, I like the feel of it better than the leather. I could get back to you after I was able to wear it a few times to see if my feelings about it change.

Congratulations - I’ve always thought that combination of grey dial and blue hands is a winner. Then I saw one in the flesh at an OB and it looked even better! It’s definitely on my list

cracking looking watch that although i prefer the sedna gold version myself ;), on another note, the chrome pieces on the lug end of the strap are they attached to the strap or are they part of the case, i ask as having just bought the new SMP i'm on the lookout for a deployant clasp strap as the new SMP is a buckle version ::facepalm2:: and although the SMP is 20mm lug to lug and the Aqua Terra is 19mm it's a good looking strap that might do the trick for me ;)

They are part of the strap.

Wow I am very surprised that an AD would match Jomashop considering you loose out on the warranty if you went that route...

I was also surprised. My thought was, worst case they say no and I then begin hunting online now that I knew how great it looked in person. Alas, it worked out in my favor.
