Bought my first Rolex after 10 years of saving!

I posted a photo of the bracelet of a 16200 a while back inquiring about stretch. Unfortunately that watch sold before I could buy it. After searching for another one for a few weeks one popped up and I immediately snagged it. Its a 16200 from 2002 that was recently serviced. Like I said I had to save for a decade to be able to purchase this. I am from Sri Lanka and had to pay 2 million rupees which is an insane amount of money to spend on a watch. But I have been doing well (I am a business owner) so decided to treat myself. This purchase also coincided with my 33rd birthday!

I do want to know whether the stretch on this bracelet is apparent or not. I personally think that the its in impeccable condition. What do you guys think?

Thank you.

Bracelet looks fine. Don't wear it too tight or too loose, take it off every six months and ultrasonic clean it and it'll probably outlast you.
(ultrasonic to remove dust and debris that acts like grinding paste)

It's a very nice looking watch, except for the date magnifier (cyclops), but that's just a pet hate of mine.

You've certainly earned it, now just enjoy it.

Thank you for the pointers. I already wear it quite snug (can slide a pinky under the clasp). I personally love the cyclops its one of the reasons I picked the DJ over the OP.

Congratulations on achieving your goal, and happy birthday. The watch looks great, the bracelet looks to be in excellent condition as well. Wear it in great health for many years to come. And rest easy- if you do indeed wear out the bracelet over the years, there are folks who can rebuild it when the time comes (judging by the looks of your watch, won't have to worry about that for more than a decade).

The watch looks great and the bracelet appears to be in excellent condition. Congrats on your patience and saving for the watch that you truly wanted. I think that was very smart. Too many people keep spending money on second-rate substitutes, making it harder for them to afford their dream watch.

Insane? Nah, welcome to our asylum! It’s ok to celebrate success with a “Texas Timex”. Many of us did. I like your watch very much. It’s in great shape.

First I've seen "Texas Timex" haha. That's great.

I hate Rolex as a brand for how they treat customers but I have always really liked their designs for the most part, very nice watch.

Nice watch, and no hate from me on cyclops. Although pricey, I’ve been very happy with my Rolex from similar era. 20 years later and it’s been great. Same goes for others I’ve bought new and a few vintage. They are expensive but I’ve been impressed with reliability. Enjoy.

33 is a very special age in my religion - so you chose a good year for it! A timeless Datejust too, you can't really go wrong with that.

Looks great, enjoy ownership of this nice watch. I'd see if a watchmaker could fix the end links for a more streamlined fit without gaps. It could be something as simple as new springbars and some elbow grease.

Thank you. The end link gap bothers me a little. I will see what my watchmaker can do about it.
