Borealis takes on the 168.0065

I was strolling down my feed on Instagram and had to do a double take:



Borealis is offering a homage on the reference 168.0065. I know homage watches are taboo on this forum, but I was wondering "when" we'd see a homage of a Connie when a lot of the modern Omega models receive the homage treatment. To me this interpretation feels quite stale in comparison to to the real thing. I'm just wondering who the target market is for this watch?

Here's my ref. 167.005, I definitely wouldn't swap it for a Borealis 😉

Since Omega no longer makes a Constellation that looks like the vintage watch, I have no issues with a micro brand offering one that does.

The case and Dogleg lugs are nice but the dial does nothing for me. It lacks the definition and charm of the original pie pan. For some reason, the minute hand extending beyond the minute markers annoys me.

I looked and they're all sold out so they must be doing it right.

I’m not one for banning discussions about facsimiles but this watch is simply a poor copy of the original.

Borealis really missed the mark on this one. A friend of mine has their SM300 homage and they got pretty close with that one- this is just wrong on so many levels. Even if the Connie it is trying to represent never existed, this just falls flat at every turn and is truly a boring watch.
