Too late for a spoiler alert unfortunately. 🤦
The movie has been out for 6 months in the US. I think we're well past the spoiler tag.

Although I'm not a fan of Roger Moore as Bond, he did have his moments.

So, I saw No time to day last night. About time - I know. First of all - It was not that easy to spot the watch. Earlier films showed Bonds watches more, there was one scene close to the end that involved the watch, but the watch was seen for a split second.

This is where we get a bit of topic - but I felt sad after the movie. Yes, Bond will get back but in what form? Specter is gone, the CIA guy is gone and Bond is dead. Even though the franchise will continue, it will be different from now I guess.

I guess the nttd Seamaster will be even more special - James Bonds last watch.

There is a long list of disregarded storylines within the Bond franchise. Blofeld has died before, Felix, the CIA guy, has also died before.

Bond has been married before, Blofeld killed his wife, Bond through him down a chimney from a helicopter.

Bond has retired, and come back etc etc

So just a reset will do fine. If they get a good actor and a good story (and maybe a good watch) we will all forget he died once.....(pun intended)

Lol, wut? Aside from Goldeneye, most of his movies were terrible.

You really think so? I was sceptical myselves when he got the role manly because of that god awful series he did in the 80, but I think he did Bond well. Many great stunts, crazy villans and the best taste in watches. The only thing I didnt like was the constant bitching about how he was a relic from the old days, but that have also been done to boredom in Craigs films as well. Not thats any fault of Craigs of course.

Just to keep it a bit on topic.( Would love me a quartz Seamaster)

Yes, I thought most of his movies were terrible. Great taste in clothes and watches of course. DC's Bond looked terrible in a lot of his suits since they were way too tight. DC did casual Bond really well though.

Never took he wardrobe into consideration, but you are certainly right. How about this for a plus for Brosnan?

Just a reminder of what got most of us into the Bond films in the first place , it certainly was for me . And it was definitely the car that got me going as a young boy watching bond .

Best Bonds:

1 Brosnan
2 Moore
3 Lazenby
4 Craig
5 Dalton
6 Connery

How is that for a list?
You must be an aussie, your list is upside-down 😁😜

No dispute about the Rolex in the books, but Bond should be wearing an Omega. He is a Royal Navy man and Omega was the Royal Navy’s choice. Fleming got it wrong. 😀
😲
Retired after almost 40 years an Officer I can say that in practice I have seen mostly black plastic toolwatches...
Reality is a mix having seen Tudor, TAG Heuer, Omega Seamaster & Speedmaster, Rolex Submariner & Explorer on the wrists of colleagues.

I can’t be responsible if some of those men have poor taste in watches. 😁 Seriously, point taken.

In this day and age, the traditional Bond character is an anachronism - a “relic” of a past era 😉. Like everything else, the character and franchise have to continue evolving to speak to newer audiences. Craig was a good start. I’m curious to see what’s coming next and how Omega factors into that future.

100% agree. Early Connery was OK, but majority of Craigs movies are the best Bond.

Going to be a hard act to follow, after all if not for Craig and Bond films changing direction I doubt the franchise would've continued being successful, with the likes of Neeson & Taken, Damon & Bourne etc
I feel the same. Connery was the original, if not for the early success of his films, Bond would not be celebrating 60 years this year. Since then, every Bond movie that has followed has just been doing more of the same. Until Craig, his films set the stage for a different kind of Bond movie.

However, I don't feel that means Craig is necessarily the best Bond to follow Connery. Some of his movies are very good yes, but as far as actors who fit my "image" of James Bond, my ranking is as follows:
Connery
Dalton
Brosnan
Lazenby
Moore
Craig (I always think he looks more like a villain than a hero)

Having said that, I've enjoyed every actor as Bond. Each brought something different to the role.

Nearing the end of NTTD I was thinking he'll find a secret tunnel and save himself. But with today's woke Hollywood Bond will stay dead so they can get even more PC and shove more perversion down our throats.

I'm all for more perversion - bring it on! 😀

Finally in cinemas... (May 2022 = NetFlix) ... Operation Mincemeat
In 1943, British Naval Intelligence Division NID came up with a deception plan to disguise the Allied invasion of Sicily.
Operation Mincemeat involved the washing up, on the southwestern Spanish coast, of an Army officer's dead body carrying a diplomatic bag with false invasion plans and maps of Albania & Greece.
The plan was master minded by Commander Ewen Montagu (1901-1985), a war time NID colleague of Commander Ian Fleming (1908-1964), the later author of the James Bond novels, who reworked his enthralling WWII experiences in those novels (30 million sold before his death).
Hoping this movie will have the same suspense as the 1956 original version "The Man Who Never Was" ...
