As long as they keep featuring Omega watches and women who look like this, I don’t care who plays Bond. 😀
Or like this

IMO Craig has been the best Bond so far. The tone of the movies is perfect, and I personally loathed the rather dumb unrealistic movies with Roger Moore in them. But to each their own...

100% agree. Early Connery was OK, but majority of Craigs movies are the best Bond.

Going to be a hard act to follow, after all if not for Craig and Bond films changing direction I doubt the franchise would've continued being successful, with the likes of Neeson & Taken, Damon & Bourne etc

Am I not allowed to like what I like in your world? As I said, to each their own. If you like that sort of movie, that's fine. I don't, and think the Craig era was a much needed reboot and refocus of the series. Dalton played it well in my view, but the Brosnan era seems very dated even now.

Am I not allowed to disagree? I though we were having a discussion about movies here.
What a shame I was enjoying this.

You can and have disagreed, so not sure why you are asking that. As I've said, you like what you like - I prefer something very different to the campy style. We aren't gong to convince each other to like something we don't like.

Exactly. Bourne in particular had already easily surpassed the Bond films in my view (in particular the first), and showed what this kind of film could really be. I do think that the style of the Craig movies was a response to the success of the Bourne Identity.

For me, the Bourne films pass the channel surfing test - meaning if I'm channel surfing and come across it, I'll watch whatever is left of the movie. Can't say the same for most of the Bond franchise to be honest.

Well you asked; "Am I not allowed to like what I like in your world?" That why, but we can leav it at that if you like.

Well anything to go by the responses I read to the female bond franchise that may happen, many 'old school fans' aren't approving.

I very much doubt Bond will be around in 60yrs, maybe the next 10-20yrs depends how they approach the next refresh. They could take note of who Marvel have created an audience and kept that audience. DC are struggling to get the same priase/ win/ fans/ box office figures. I'm not sure if the new younger audience want Bond, after all Bond changed to winning (box office) because of Bourne success.

Maybe a Netflix/ HBO young Bond series could work - heck might even make Omega produce a smart watch lol

I'm not sure why you are making this into such an issue, suggesting that people who don't like what you like, somehow "don't get it" but yes, we can agree to disagree - as I've said from the start.

Hopefully they won't become a parody of themselves, as Bond had become before Craig.

I doubt that too, I of course ment when the Taken and Bourn francises have been around for 60 years like Bond have. Im sorry for the confusion.
I dont know about Marvel and Dc as I dont follow them.
Whats special about the Bond francise I think is that a new Bond film is an occasion, some thing special that are awaited by millions. I dont belive if either Taken or Bourne has the same folloving, they are just run of the mill action movies. And I dont think it wise to make Bond into that, like I think the Craig era movies did, in a way.
I dont mind a female Bond even the change could be too big, could be like Lara Croft maybe?

We see eye to eye on Bond, Archer. After early Connery, Craig and Dalton would be my picks as best Bond. And I have a soft spot for Dalton's The Living Daylights. Maryam D'Abo was just stunningly beautiful as his love interest and the chemistry between the two really did seem genuine.

Brosnan was a major disappointment for me. When Dalton got the role, I actually wanted Brosnan to get it - you know the whole Remington Steele vibe he had back then. If he had played the scripts as Dalton did, he might have made a decent Bond. Best thing about Goldeneye was Judy Dench starting her stint as M.

I'm sure they'll get clever with the story moving forward. They have a golden goose and they're going to take care of it. I think it will always have it's audience and it is a series of films that are awesome.

Problem was in the 90's there were so many action films with big budgets and those films were influenced by a lot that happened in those days, you had to be there.

A lot of people either don’t realise or forget that the Bond character - in Fleming’s own words - was never meant to be likeable. I think Craig wove that into the role beautifully, hence he’s my No.1 Bond, closely followed by Connery. Moore did a few good ones (TSWLM, LALD) but to me the others were all pretty forgettable.

All Bond films are a good reflection of how cinema and society looked like at the time.

Spectre is gone, the CIA-guy is gone and Bond is dead.

Too late for a spoiler alert unfortunately. 🤦
