Bond - a bit of topic

So, I saw No time to day last night. About time - I know. First of all - It was not that easy to spot the watch. Earlier films showed Bonds watches more, there was one scene close to the end that involved the watch, but the watch was seen for a split second.

This is there we get a bit of topic - but I felt sad after the movie. Yes, Bond will get back but in what form? Spectre is gone, the CIA-guy is gone and Bond is dead. Even though the frainchaise will continue, it will be different from now I guess.

I guess the nttd Seamaster will be even more special - James Bonds last watch.

Reboot and start again would be my bet!
Yep, but will that mean a James Bond jr (a forgotten son or something)?

Hey I did too! To be honest I am not sad to see Daniel Craig go, he ranks low on my list of Bonds. Having grown up wtih Roger Moore, I want Bond to be larger than life, funny and spectaculare. Daniel Craig era films didnt do that for me.

Next Bond needs to be a minority lesbian so that the womanizing can continue, a cross of Roger Moores Bond and Lara Croft sort of. And the movies have to be unrealistic and over the top.

Versus this recent era of period piece biographies they’ve painstakingly assembled.

I’m also ok with a new Bond following Craig. My issue is killing Spectre, Felix and not to mention Bond himself… These parts has followed the movie for 50 years, but no more.

Not really. It's just another JB universe with all of the villains brought back. A JB Jr would just be a sequel. A reboot starts the story all over again.

Havent Bond, Spectre and Felix Lighter been killed before? Just like Kenny they always come back. Sean Beans 006 came back and these films realy dont need continuety. "You are a hard man to kill mr Bond"

Maybe they will go back to something different, something like cold war and/or post World War 2 times of Bond like the books.

I kind of liked Craig as Bond. It appears to me they might move forward towards a woman 007. It’s the new Hollywood craze of changing a character as much as possible from the original intent. I like the new Bond watch even though I’m still not crazy about the Bond gimmick and definitely not about the price.

James Bonds' backstory is that he was a Commander in the Royal Navy before joining MI6. I have a hunch the reboot will start with Bond leaving the Royal Navy and joining MI6 and the movie will cover what it's like to start from the bottom in the license to kill line of work. Similar idea as the Star Trek reboot with Chris Pine as young James T. Kirk.

Assuming they get a good Bond actor, they will have a number of years (and movies) to develop the character.

How old would a Commander in the Royal Navy normally be? The movie producers couldn't get someone too young since a Commander wouldn't be someone under 30 and they probably don't want to go with someone over than 35 since that could limit the amount of movies made.

But did anyone actually see him die?

Thats a good point, and its been done again and again in the series.

Kill the franchise. It’s beyond tedious.

Also a good point! But I still rewatch the damned tings from time to time.
