We're just giving you the standard welcome when something like this happens. There was a new member a few years ago who chose a name with some kind of Speedmaster association (just like you did with Rolex) yet he didn't own a Speedmaster (nor even one Omega yet).

For what it's worth, deeming yourself a God of a certain brand implies that you own several and have extensive knowledge & experience. Dude, you're the exact opposite, and I wouldn't be surprised to see words like "poser" and "fraud" thrown around in this thread. 🙄

Now, if you're just another of our recurring trolls, well then, allow me to welcome you back. You KNOW I love the banter and games, but I doubt the staff here does.

Everclear was probably the best, because no matter how hard he tried he couldn't resist swearing in caps intermittently and outing himself

Oh yeah, I forgot about him. His screen name was something like ev3clr and he came back 2 or 3 times with different aliases. We've had a few expert trolls, but Son of Light's 3 part story still cracks me up.

Oh my GAWD! He started with a thread about his toddler putting a dent in his Seamaster, then a few days later asking about "stolen" watches and insurance claims, then mysteriously "lost" his watch in Boston Harbor.... only to "find" it the next day. Give me a minute or two to find the threads - he was EPIC!

Excuse my ignorance of internet phenomenon chaps, but can somebody please explain to me what an 'on-line troll's' motive is?
Are they:
1) Just bored computer obsessed 'oddbods' with 'Fakk all' better to do?
2) Not very nice people?
3) Actually getting something in return for their efforts?

I've never really given this much thought and have no idea???😕

Trolling can be fun. There's no doubt trolls are motivated partially by self amusement. Sometimes it's a game to see how much you can get away with for how long; other times a troll feels they were wronged and wants to get even with their perceived harasser. Maybe they believe the partial anonymity of the internet makes it okay.

As far as I know, the only thing a troll receives for trolling is a giggle or two and some attention. If there are paying positions available, I'd have applied already!
