And what about Europe?
Are there some users that use Parcel Pro from Europe to US or Japan ( to have to different examples)?

Cheers guys
Just sent an email request to create an account for a UE based individual. Will update information.

Has anyone shipped from US to Canada via PrcelPro? Or any methods? How much does it usually cost? And custom fees? Lets say the watch is about mid $2k. Thank you

If you are receiving a watch in Canada from the US or any country abroad the import fees will be about 15%+5% duty at the worst. So tack on 20% on top of the declared value of the watch. If you live in Alberta then you only pay 5% tax + 5% duty.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion.
I already did but they said that their service is not for individuals. Then they said their services will be soon available in Italy, but not at the moment!
I assume that in US, for example, their services are also available for individual collectors..am I wrong?
Cheers

I used USPS guaranteed 3 business day delivery. I insured for $1400 and it cost me $30 from Hawaii to New York.

They just replied my email, saying that they are not currently offering services in Spain.

What I have done (shipping and receiving) is USPS small flat rate box, and purchased insurance online at the USPS website for the full value of the watch.

for example, insuring about $2,500 of watch cost around $55 shipped if I remember correctly, via the avenue described above. Not sure this is the most elegant or efficient method out there but just my $0.02

I had an update from Parcel Pro.
They're looking to have services globally, but there is not an ETA for completion.
Actual areas in EU they are offering service are Germany and UK.

I usually ship UPS 2 day, insured, and have never had a problem. However, that earlier post about them (UPS) excluding jewelry and watches has me concerned. I'll have to look into these other options next time. Thanks!

Does anyone have any solid info on insurance for shipments via DHL?
Their UK website seems encouraging as it appears to authorize shipment for watches up to £4000 (see prohibited items below), but I’m wondering if those terms apply in/ from other countries. I may well check it out in any event.
  • Jewellery, costume jewellery, watches and objects constructed of precious metal and/or stones with a value in excess of £4,000 per waybill

I recently got a watch shipped from Sweden to the US via DHL, and they limited the insurance to the equivalent of $500. It was also stated on the paperwork in Sweden that you were not allowed to send watches. Very strange.

I’ve had issues with UPS. They misdeliver my packages 2/3 of the time, leaving them 5 houses away from mine. Those people are never home so packages have sat outside for days in foul weather, ruining the merchandise. The house to which this stuff gets left has a big “19” on the front door, and I’m NOT at #19. UPS has left packages leaning against that front door! How do you miss the big “19” in front of your face?? Tossers.

It can be a headache. I'm not sure if in Canada I can use DHL to ship to a buyer in Canada. Is FedEx or ups better for domestic shipments with insurance?

Do people with Parcel Pro accounts know the following:
1/ If a buyer has a Parcel Pro account but the seller doesn’t, can’t the buyer’s account be used to provide insurance for the shipment? And if so, does that mean the shipment must be done through the buyer’s courrier account number?

2/ can people with US addresses (eg friends or relatives?) but residing outside the US sign up using that US address?
Thanks for the additional info,
S

Yep - drop shipping is very doable. ParcelPro allows multiple (not sure if infinite, but certainly multiple) "ship from" addresses.

For your second question, I'm not sure, but unlike many companies ParcelPro is very responsive to questions and customer service inquiries.

That is strange. I just called DHL France and they said they can ship and insure watches worldwide for a value up to 5000 euros.
(For certain non EU countries precious metals may require involving a customs agent at an extra cost of about 100-120 euros).

Sylvie, thanks for these precious info, I'm following the thread with interest. Next time I need to ship something, DHL will definetely be the option!
Does anyone know if Parcel Pro has a maximum amount they'll insure on a watch?

It depends on a location From and To. The limit changes based on the countries. I can ship up to 50k USD to a developed countries a bit less for more risky ones. I am located in Eastern Europe

Thanks. Other stupid question: if the parcel is lost and you insured up to 40k, what kind of document do you need to provide to be reimbursed?
If an expertise or other is needed, then insuring it becomes worthless if you have no "proof" of what the package was worth...
