I must do this!

I saw a video on YouTube of a couple older gentlemen who built rail bikes and were exploring the lines in (I think) Iowa. It was beautiful.

Found it! I love the views in this short little video. What a way to spend a nice day, wouldn't it be??

I saw this sign on my very quiet ride yesterday. This is the lovely city of Perth West Oz.
Second pic is from my cafe destination , Perth city in the background, 70k round trip.

How very dare they restrict my freedom to scream on every pedal stroke. Its what makes it fun.

My last freehub ratchet (54 teeth) sounded like a swarm of angry bees. They'd have hated me freewheeling through there!

Yea, did think immediately of a herd freewheeling through would make a right old noise, but still come on, signs?

Sorry but a sign with that much text on it... No time to read all of it when I'm on the road 😎

Anyone else doing winter prep tyre swap/ waterproofing the eyeballs/ kit shopping?

New blockier tyres, bars and because I'm getting old now, waterproof and crash proof troos on order.
Hoping to be less wet and upsidedown this season.

Nope, sold my MTB as it's just not for me. That said, I DID get a new road bike. 😉

Wow, nice steed! No Di2? I was about to pull the trigger on a Tarmac Pro with Force eTap 12speed. What are your thoughts so far?

Thanks everyone! It certainly is a head-turner, more than I hoped for tbh!

There's a pic on the previous page of my Tarmac Pro if you want to take a look. I'm not a huge electronics fan. I know, it's amazing, but it hasn't, ahem, clicked for me yet. So the Pro only has mechanical Ultegra, and this has mechanical Dura Ace.

I am coming from an SL5 and I have to say that the SL6 ride quality is significantly better, even on the Pro, which has the lower specced carbon compared to my SL5. I bit the bullet and went tubeless for the SW as I have a ride out west and was advised that doing so was the way to go (goat heads galore, apparently). That has made a big difference as well, but it's taking some getting used to.

I ride in Sydney cbd for work and absolutely love it, so scenic and I get paid for the privilege. I do however ride on an e-bike so as not to arrive at clients all hot and sweaty. This is my view when riding

Moist day in the saddle. Mist and fog replaced by sideways rain. Winter rubber is now on order.
Still, had the trails all to ourselves as a result.

Does anyone have experience of Hope E4s and stuck/ non returning pistons? My rear has lunched a set of brand new pads in one go due to this. I've bled and re- bled, last go this week before being chucked at the LBS to solve

Hi @Wivac
Stuck piston are usually due to sticky residue on the exposed part of a partially exposed piston or corrosion due to moisture combined with salt. Remove pads and cycle the pistons as far as they go out without coming loose, then push back all the way into the calipers. Repeat several times. Clean the exposed pistons with a soft, and clean, rag. This procedure might help and the pistons should work as intended. If it does not help push the pistons out of the calipers and clean thouroghly or replace if damaged. The pistons should be smooth where they move back and forth in the seal.

Super, good advice thanks. They've been bullet proof up until now so hopefully it's as you suggest.
