2006 -- shoulda picked up the clues in Aheadset and low spoke count wheels.

Although I've had (and still have) a number of Brookes saddles my favourite perch is a Selle Italia that came on a new Moulton spaceframe in 1983 and is transfered to whatever is my current touring bike, now Airnimal Joey.

That’s a crazy looking tourer. Who makes that compact frame?

Airnimal -- who else? http://airnimal.eu/

The founder/owner is an old friend with interests in Moultons and recumbents as I do, and hey, if you can stand the attention that both of those get you need an Airnimal. They are engineer's bikes, and designed and assembled locally to me so I'm supporting local business 😉

I took mine at a few weeks old to a Veteran Cycle Club ride to which I'd only taken vets before and found the organiser's partner was riding hers that day too. "Anything old no matter how matter how interesting, anything interesting no matter how old".

Really happy with it so far. Actually a significantly better descender than my SL5 S-Works Tarmac, and that's saying something for a semi-fat guy. 😁

What is semi-fat? Amongst cyclist semi-fat means super-thin for non-cycling people...

True! But I'm a Clyde at 214, so by cycling standards I'm enormous

I’m in Taicang China this week, took the opportunity of some downtime to take one of the hotel bikes for a spin.

Some cities in China are fantastic, like this one. Streets are beautiful with dedicated tree lined bike lanes giving shade from the hot sun. People are very friendly and the local food is very good. (Just stay away from their “attempt” at Western food..!)

So...I guess the ride dudes weren’t joking that one of the dudes [from a rival masters road team] has a camera in his tail light.

But...I don’t really feel too bad about the birdie...since dude is on a rival masters road team and all...

Pic from Thursday (12SEP19)...

Gave the old Filing Cabinet a clean and a quick blast through the forest at the weekend.

In-between visited a very poor bike show at the NEC, mostly a waste of time and resources...except for this...

Anyone have first hand experience of Curtis bikes?
I've known of them for years, but this thing made me feel all funny like when I used to climb rope in P.E.

Another London to Brighton off road done, 70 odd miles on thoroughly inappropriate 6 inch bikes, although I can say with absolute certainty we had the most fun on the technical descents.
Next year, something a little more sensible me thinks.

Realised Patriots and Golfs seems to be a reoccurring theme for me.

And I am sick home 🙁 recently came back from Europe and while there I got a bacteria in my stomach 🙁

Currently taking medication to get rid of it but the meds are giving some nasty side effects.

should be back on saddle by next week Friday 😀

Lots of mountain bikes in this thread; does this vehicle count as a bike too? It was a lovely day, for sure. 😀

Only times I’ve ever gotten sick in China . . French restaurant in Guangzhou (my boss hated Chinese food) and BJ Air China Business Lounge lunch buffet. (Although the actual sick part was the flight to Chicago)

Well, it’s a so-called Velo-rail, essentially a bike for two running on rails.

I have just learned is a fairly common tourist attraction in France. The country is riddled with numerous defunct railway lines, some of which now have been repurposed as a track to cycle on. A very enjoyable experience!

I must do this!

I saw a video on YouTube of a couple older gentlemen who built rail bikes and were exploring the lines in (I think) Iowa. It was beautiful.
