Headed out on my almost 30 year old Trek 8000 ATB...wearing my almost 5 year old Speedy Gonzales Moonwatch on an almost 5 year old Raine Inc. protective band [protective flap retracted]...
Grip Shift!
Also, how do you like the Brooks? I always hear people raving about them. But most of them are just "scene hipsters" riding around their fixed gears whilst grooming their mustache.
I was thinking about picking one up for my baby hauling hybrid.
But instead of leather, I was looking at the Cambium.
Anyone have any experience with those?

I’ve been a road rider for a long time but this past year have gotten heavily into track cycling... anybody else on here ride the velodrome? 😀

Yes, did it a couple of times, but the track is not close enough to be a regular.
BTW, what velodrome is that on the pic?
No...but Dad did back in the 1920s and 1930s...see second pic below...I believe that’s the Newark (NJ) velodrome. Dad used to talk quite a bit about his track racing days when I was growing up. Dad is indicated by the red arrows, Uncle Bob (who became a pro track racer) is indicated by the white arrows and Uncle Harry is indicated by the blue arrow. They were on an amateur team/club called the Bay View Wheelmen out of Newark, NJ. Also, it came out at one of our family reunions in the 1980s that Dad was a “dirty racer”...win at all costs...you can see that his lower right leg is somewhat mangled in the second pic below...makes sense...you race dirty and you’re gonna get dirty. 😁
Also, I included Dad’s watches and some of his track racing medals below...he threw away ALL of his track racing silver plated cups in the 1980s...which I was pretty bummed about...I would’ve liked to have had those as keepsakes since I remember clanking them around as a wee lad in the 1960s and early 1970s.
A hospital appointment a few weeks back and told my riding days are finally over so only memories and some images left plus my Cannondale sitting in the garden shed 🙁
A poor image from the eighties on a tour on the isle of Islay, https://www.islayinfo.com/
On my afternoon commute today! Bike is older than the watch by about 5 years. Steel is real!
Sorry to hear that. I dread the day I have to hang up my bars.
Can you strip the 'dale and mount on a wall to use as a focal point while you regale those around you of heroic pedalling deeds?
