Anyone know if the Omega design team have been smoking something this past year?

Looks similar to a C-case Connie with a coin edge; what's not to like?

I actually quite like it, digging the Constellation pattern in the dial.

Not a fan of the bezel. I'm sure I could get over it though.

While I understand that many will like this, what I will be really disappointed in is if it is only offered in gold variations.

I thought the Tresor was the best release of last year but no SS model killed it for me.

For me personally, I'm just not a gold watch guy, even if it is more of a dress watch.

Not a fan. The design lacks creativity and is a mish mash of other iconic watches (datejust bezel, Connie pie pan). This seems to be an occasion where omega should have held back a release.

Upon further review, I think the biggest positive from this one is that it only has 2 lines of text on the bottom half of the dial.

Well, it looks like someone at Omega likes Rolex.

It's way more than that...

they keep trying to give us a modern Connie, they just keep getting it wrong. Although, non fluted bezel would get them a lot closer....

Hmmmm. Oddly, I like it. Anyone know the case width? Even though I love their looks, I'm not a Connie guy today since they feel too small on my wrist. But a bigger version, well..........

It's now on Omega's site.

Looks like they will have a SS offering and the bezel will not be gold a la the DJ, but will be tungsten carbide.

Size is 39mm.

I will say, they show the back of the watch with the Connie observatory put into the sapphire caseback, and it looks pretty sweet.

However, buying a watch because of the back of it is pretty pointless IMO.

Also, the caliber is the 8900 - which are the METAS certified watches.

Release date is November of 2015.

Just in time for Basel 2016 rumors to start.

Seriously, not getting where all the Datejust crap is coming from. It has a piepan dial, a Connie star, C-shaped case, and a coin edge; this thing screams classic, iconic '60s Constellation.

BTW, despite this I did purchase a PO titanium 45.5 today 馃榾

That's white gold.

There is a SS version per the website but only in a blue dial.

Did not look very good in the illustration pics but that's par for the course for Omega. The blue dial in the flesh could be very nice.

Just looked at the blue dial steel version, love it.

I know this is a mash up of classic Connie features, but they are done well IMO. Fluted/coin edge bezel and C-case are straight off the cal 751s, pie pan dials are quintessential Constellation, as is that crown and, naturally, the caseback.
