Maybe but I think there are a lot of design ques taken from the ploprof especially ones with orange accents. You can’t beat that vintage vibe of the baby ploprof though and it would be pretty cool to see a modern reinterpret.

Agree with the orange touch. I like the "massive" style of the steel piece of the case and of the bezel of the Baby. And the mesh strap 🥰

I'm all for mesh making a comeback, if that's what y'all are hinting at. Perfect match for the twisted lugs.

FYI, received this from Omega boutique today. This is real and vague info:

It is almost time for Baselworld, and I wanted to share a few things that we may be seeing there:

  • Seamaster 300M Diver Master Chronometer (With wave dial!)
  • Apollo 8th LE (50th Anniversary)
  • Speedmaster Moonphase Master Chronometer with aventurine dial
  • 70th Anniversary Seamaster LE
  • New York edition Seamaster (and other cities)

Good to see the wave dial returning to the SMP. That’s a classic Omega design for the SMP and they should have never removed it.

Thanks for sharing😀

I have seen the wave dial render on the Seamaster 300M and it does look cool...better spacing between the lines and a more sporty look. I have also seen a black/white Panda FOIS render with what looks like some sort of racing dial strap...don't think this will the Apollo 8th LE which should probably feature a Speedy Pro.

Speedmaster Moonphase Master Chronometer with the aventurine dial sounds like a gorgeous watch😀

If Omega releases a 50th Anniversary Apollo 8 Speedmaster, it should have a power reserve equal to the mission duration - 6 days, 3 hours, 42 seconds.

Great catch! 😀The content management menu place holders were certainly there.

Looks like many of the predictions on the OF were pretty much spot on.

Curious about the Tresor collection...hopefully it will be an update to the men's collection and not new additions to the young female diamonds and bling Piaget inspired quartz caliber product line. Still it seems a bit strange to update the Tresor collection now and at the same time have Seamaster limited edition dress watches being launched.

I suppose Omega have still not given up on the shotgun, see what sticks 150-200 new SKUs per year approach.🙄

Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 8 was expected, but I am very curious to see what updates might be done to the DSOTM range, perhaps with the inclusion of the 9900 calibre.

These two are what both my wife and my wallet are fearing!

A bit of thread drift here...but it is Basel 2018 related.

Wei Koh from Revolution has written a very funny post on Basel 2018, and how much he "enjoys" going there....this appeared a few days back originally as a "Love Letter to Baselword"...some might have missed it.

https://www.revolution.watch/will-baselworld-continue-to-exist/

Teaser below:
"Baselworld - the peripatetic second home of those plying our trade in that glorious merger of science and magic, craft and art known as haute horlogerie. You need to pull your head out of your ass. Because like a multitude of others, I have been shamelessly bamboozled, swindled, and financially gutted by you, as you laughed condescendingly like Zeus, haughtily ensconced on his Olympian throne, because you felt that I, like all my ilk, had to prostrate tremulously before your might."

As we anxiously await for the first instagram posts from Basel next week, I thought a little light reading might help pass the time😀

Hopefully the Speedmaster release doesn't tempt. Three in 12 months now and I want to shift gears.

Just checked and actually it seems Omega has taken down the Tresor Ladies Collection page that was posted around Dec 2017...perhaps my rant linking it to the main Tresor page worked😗😁.

So I think Omega will actually relaunch the Tresor Ladies (Kaia Quartz) Collection at Basel 2018, which means that there will probably be nothing new in the traditional 8511 caliber line, leaving some space for some SS/PM dressy Seamaster 1948 LEs.
