Is the same true for date-at-12? More or Less so? Sorry for the short but somewhat related thread hijack...

The date-at-12 feature was offered on Conquests in 1960 as the caliber 291, Conquest Power Reserves from 1959 through 1967 as the caliber 294, and Flagships in 1961 as the caliber 341. Grand Prizes (and maybe an Admiral) with the date at 6 only came with the caliber 341 or 343 as far as I know, and I can't even be sure of the years because there's not enough examples out there to compile solid data. So to answer your question, it's my opinion that the date-at-6 is MUCH more uncommon than the date-at-12.

I'm certainly no Longines expert, but looks pretty good to this untrained eye; not sure about the crown...

Please post back here if/when you get it, as I'm sure you'd be able to catch even more of it's true beauty...

Your eye is getting better Doug.

It's an honest watch, with maybe a replacement - or worn - crown. 1961-ish, caliber 341 as mentioned above.

I have a 10K date at 3 version. The Automatic script is moved up under the Grand Prize and mine has a stubby second hand. Also have seen some Admiral models with a similar dial layout.

So, here's the first one: 10K Grand Prize cal 343 Date@6 with sunburst from '6' dial:

Much more beautiful in the flesh (even if it is only 10k GF!) than I could imagine. I still haven't found a scratch or blemish anywhere on it; looks just like a new watch...

Because of it's NOS condition, I might be afraid to wear this one, no doubt.

The good thing is, I did also get a very wearable Marvin cal 560 today (by surprise) from another seller, so the itch to wear a new watch outside is also satisfied...

A surprise, because I never received any shipping info, and then suddenly today, it arrives! Just like those UK WIS's, always have a surprise, and this one was a good one...

I see a watch like this and cant believe that people pay 2-3k for a NEW Longines dress watch with a dead-boring ETA ...

you can get soooo much more bang for the buck with a watch like this ...

cheers, Al
