Wow, so nice to see this thread still going strong! Visited a friend's garage recently, and amongst many others was this fella...
Was looking for something specific this morning (unrelated) and found this picture of me from 11 years ago with my buddies Golf. These were they days man.... LOL at my stupid watermark and border.
I was after one of those Thule wind deflectors for the bars on my Mk4 for ages, but in the UK rocking horse teeth are more common, and buying a yacht slightly cheaper.
Came across this today - a YouTuber wrapped his new GR Yaris in the classic late '80s-90s Castrol livery. Have to say, I absolutely love it
Tesco supermarket car-park today Slightly oddly its registration plate is a few years after the 308 went out of production. I know the ex-sales manager of the dealership whose name is on the number plates and they do not deal in replicas.
Are the plates assigned to the vehicle at production, or at the time of first sale / registration to its owner? Could have sat on the lot for a few years before being finally sold, in the latter case
Are 308's even any good? My father in law just bought one in another state but has yet to go look at it.
They can be great cars, my brother in-law has had both a 308 and a 328. He regrets selling the 328 but has recently upped his game with an F430 spyder. A PPI by someone familiar with any Ferrari purchase is highly recommended.
At time of first sale. It can be changed later but only for one older than the car. My car was first registered in 1983 but has carried a 1964 plate since 1984. Sales of old registrations is a big business in the UK. I know it hadn't been standing because I saw it on the production line with my name on a "PRIORITY" sticker on the windscreen. So I phoned the dealer daily until it arrived
Yeah he drove down to Miami a couple of weeks ago with intentions to buy a specific car and it looked good (to the untrained eye) but failed the PPI pretty badly. He is flying up to Missouri in a week or so to take a look at another one that already had a PPI done that he arranged and it seems like a done deal. Definitely a driver quality car, which is what he was after. The car even has white letter tires on it currently lol.
Hope you'll love it! Much as I adore 911s, the 914 made a huge impression on me from the very start, and I daily regret I've never got round to buying one of my own - first I got too picky over condition and colour - I'm insistent on one of the funky colours like Viper/Conda or Blood Orange, and then I started dissipating the specific purchasing funds I'd built up when interest rates collapsed, as I now figure that the money should really be going to my kids while they need it in relatively young adulthood. Just think, if I hadn't been so saintly and prudent I could be enjoying my own personal ongoing battle with the hell hole right now! Regards and Good Luck with yours, David.
I had no idea what that meant until about a week after this one came along. Got a '73 (I think) 2.0 project without knowing too much about them and then realized it was way more of a project than I was looking for lol. I can fix mechanical things, but I am NOT a bodywork kinda guy. Bought it, stored it for a month and didn't touch it, sold it for a profit hah. Ended up having too many rust issues, and some poorly done past rust remediation. It was originally Zambezi Green, which killed me. Why anyone would have painted black over that is beyond me. But I like funky colors.
