Haven't posted to this thread before but had to share these 3 beauties going to auction at RM Sotheby this month. Excerpt from auction house website:

ALFA ROMEO B.A.T. 5, 7 & 9 TO BE OFFERED TOGETHER AS A SINGLE LOT

RM Sotheby’s, in association with the Sotheby’s Fine Art Division, is thrilled to announce the offering of the Alfa Romeo Berlina Aerodinamica Tecnica Concepts, a trio of extraordinary automotive sculptural designs at Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auction on 28 October, in New York City.

Produced by Bertone for the Turin auto salons in 1953, 1954 and 1955, these extraordinary Alfa Romeos are undoubtedly among the most historically significant motor cars in the world, offered from long-term ownership and for the first time ever as a united trio. An unrepeatable opportunity, B.A.T. 5, 7, & 9, will be sold as a single lot.

Whether considered the ultimate three-movement concerto of automobile design or the only true automotive triptych ever produced, few will contest the greatness of the B.A.T. 5, 7, and 9d concepts. Hand-built by the storied Carrozzeria Bertone of Turin, Italy and introduced in 1953, 1954, and 1955, respectively, these cars were pioneering in their use of aerodynamics. With flamboyant aesthetics that simultaneously minimized drag for optimal performance, the B.A.T. cars were immediately and enthusiastically embraced by press and public alike.

Individually, each of the B.A.T.s is, without exaggeration, among the most important automotive concepts ever built. Presented collectively, their significance deepens: Uniquely in the automotive world, the B.A.T.s are best understood as variations on a singular theme, a complete work in three parts. Like a Francis Bacon triptych, examining one car in the context of the other two reveals new aspects of their forms, as well as the captivating details incorporated into the hand-shaped bodywork of each.

Put simply, since the inception of the internal combustion engine, no one vehicle—let alone an interwoven trilogy—has so compellingly explored the concept of the automobile as pure kinetic sculpture as the Alfa Romeo B.A.T. 5, 7, and 9d.

I vividly remember seeing these at Pebble Beach in the early 2000s. Photos simply can't express how wild they are in person!

A friend just finished his 1956 Ford F100 Custom, 3 days before our first snow fall. This is a rare truck. Heavy duty frame, 8 foot box, fender side. He acquired it partly finished from the estate of a deceased friend who had spent ten years and much moolah on it, but never drove it. Ford 390 V-8, C-6 transmission. Discs front, drums rear, air, cruise, tilt, the whole nine yards. Ford nine-bolt rear end, stock front suspension, reversed chrome Ford wheels. Except for paint on the cab and body work and paint on the box, he has completed what the original owner didn’t finish. He did the upholstery and carpeting himself. Inner door panels pretty much all that is left to do. And in the future, some of the previous body work on the cab and front fenders will be re-done, and cab and front fenders re-painted.

That GTO is absolutely stunning. I’m a ‘60s LM Aston fan, always thought the Ferraris were showboats. Wrong. That is close to perfection. Really, maybe it is perfect.

Lol almost every Porsche owner with PCCB's that I've talked to (that actually drive the car hard) swap out the ceramic discs for steel discs because of that...

The Tucker is pretty cool. Another along similar lines is the air-cooled rear engine Tatra V8 form the 30s-50s. WWII German command prohibited commandeering Tartras for staff cars b/c they were treacherous to drive quickly. Also, post-war Tatra successfully sued Volkswagen, as it claimed that Dr. Porsche had stolen intellectual property (patents.)

I saw a silver one like this in a Washington DC museum (Corcoran, now closed sadly) as part of a streamline exhibit. It was beautiful in the metal.

Yeah, been on 2 months. Can't speak to major impressions yet as the S2000 is going to be a very occasional use through the winter (I've moved back to New York), but the first couple hundred miles seemed pretty clear it's not as grippy as a summer tire (obv). They've worn in a bit now though and are a bit more stable

I have the 3's. I was very happy with them for being an all season tire.
I thought dry and wet traction was outstanding, almost up to summer tire performance.
Everything I have heard so far (from those who have moved from the 3 to the 4) is that they are even better.
If I end up with another set of tires on my GTI, I will for sure be buying those...probably lol.
They definitely got better after I put a few thousand miles on them, and I have probably close to 25k on them now and they are still doing pretty good.
I think they are a bit more slippery in the wet these days, but hey, I don't mind a some slippage when I'm expecting it hah.
I'm in Florida, so I can get away with just a summer tire year round, but I went with the all season for better wear/life.
I drive a lot (and sometimes sort of hard) so it seemed like the best tire for my application.

Yeah, that's the only real concern I have - the S2000 does not like wet weather.
