@davy26 @abrod520

Great to see acknowledgment of the best Ferrari of all time the 288 GTO. Most of the power of the F40 in the ultimate version of one of Ferrari's best looking designs.
The 288 GTO and the Miura are part of the few cars I did not yet meet IRL but that I would really love too. I encountered F40s a few time but only one on the road. With the Mercedes W154 and the Alfa 8C coach 2.9A, there are the 3 most impressive cars I ever saw. Whatever the cars they are next to, you cannot take your eyes off those 3.

Not sure about the top 5, but high in my list there is a place for a 911 GT1 road version, and a grey Liberty Walk F458. I must say, I never liked the F458 but damned that one looked good, way better IRL than in picture. The perfect balance of "too much" with Japanese perfect execution

So for my little bit of personal auto porn, I've finally finished my customizing of my 1974 SL with euro lights and the front air dam from the 86-89 560SL. Haven't gotten the air dam painted yet but I think it still looks good!馃憤

So with the euro bumpers and lights the car is finally the way it was intended to be from the factory. And with the air dam it updates the look a bit.馃憤

A bit of American muscle to mix things up. Here I am ready to make a run in 1994 during a test session at Lebanon Valley Speedway in upstate NY. 1970 Olds 442 style body, chrome moly tube chassis, 615 cubic inch Reher Morrison big block, Lenco batch-o-levers clutchless 4 speed and a heavy dose of foolhardiness. Used to run an average of 7.30 to 7.40 in the 1/4 @ 189-192 mph depending on the air quality and track. 馃榿

Here's my 2 current:

67 Barracuda 318/3 spd that I built a new motor and put in last spring.

And a 72 C10 that I built a 350 for and put in just a few weeks ago.

I have to agree with the rest about the adrenaline rush an F40 gives to the majority of car and especially us 80s/90s guys and the sheer beauty of the 288 GTO but we contantly forget this also...

The F50 is kinda cool in a retro way now, but as a followup to the F40 it really wasn't quite what people wanted. Plus, it was where Ferrari's love for the fuckery they do with the process one must go through to buy one nowadays, began in earnest.

F40s weren't quite what "people" wanted too if my memory serves me well. To carguys though it was mega, as was the F50, with its ultimate NA F1 engine + manual speed set up

I've talked to people that have driven all 3... The F50 is a better performance car, the F40 is a better drivers car, and the 288 is the best compromise, and better daily. If you would ever daily any of them lol.
