Fun police or not, that's a decent rate. In the US there are only a couple highways in Texas with posted limits that high.
Yea but even Texas is full of more stuff, towns, cities etc than Australia.

My sister is moving to Townsville which is north in the same state and it’s a 15 hour drive each way to get there. Brisbane to Sydney is 10 hours by the law. When there’s so much empty land and a lack of high speed rail, which frankly we should have by now, it leaves air as the only viable option.

That's true, but my point is most of the US highway system is limited to 55 or 65 mph (~91 to 105 km/h) which given some of the distances involved is seriously low and with our similar lack of high-speed rail, leaves us in a similar situation with air travel.

So once out of town you have a lot of roads that are black circle with a line so No speed limit. (Couple of sections of Stuart Hwy) And all other roads outside of them are 130 and usually signposted to 130.

They still have a few hundred Kms of good straight and flat as a tack road on the Stuart Hwy outside of Alice Springs that is open to any speed. ( had a Lamborghini shipped in a container not long ago to be driven by a owner there for a few days, rumour has it 😉 )
I hope it wasn’t in the trailer in @dsio’s photo.

I'll never forget while walking on the outskirts of my neighborhood with the family, a Senna rolls by....
There are some nice cars in the area, but this was by far one of the nicer ones I've seen driving around.

Great to see some automobile enthusiasts here! I've been a Porsche guy for 20+ years. My current 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is my favorite so far. Too bad it's essentially stored for winter now. I'll get a few days of driving just about every month, but not today! We've got about 4 inches of snow on the ground this morning and it's coming down hard!

Designed to carry a basket of eggs across a ploughed field without breaking any.

Not designed for replacing the distributor points in less than a day 😡

I wasn’t sure where to post these shots I took yesterday. Short story: the guitarist from my first serious band back in 1980 now lives with his wife in a Vancouver suburb. They succeeded in getting me to join their rockabilly trio (his wife plays upright bass). We took some promo shots yesterday at his neighbour’s house which, unbeknownst to 99%of passersby’s, houses a Pandora’s box of hot rods, dragsters and 1930-era Chevrolets. I was blown away by the old guy’s collection. While waiting for the photographer I took some shots of my own.

When it comes to vintage cars, I usually prefer the aesthetic of cars from across the Atlantic (and, of course, split-back window Stingrays and the odd Datsun), yet this collection of old cars was unreal. One of the bays was his paint booth, replete with a project hotrod. The hood ornaments of some of these were killer.

This lives under a cover hidden away inside my Jaguar mechanics very unassuming shop.

New movie coming: Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend

Review by Iain Tyrrell (noted Lambo restorer) here

The same things that bug him get me too -- I hate unnecessary inaccuracies and won't be watching it. Didn't see Ford vs Ferrari either. Yeah, I'm the worst person in the world to go to the cinema with to see anything based on actual events.

BTW the white Ferrari behind Iain was Ferruccio's own car, the one that made him so dissatisfied that he started his own car manufacture.
