Art deco- watches and beyond

The numerals are nice, quite art deco. This watch obviously isn't mine. It's owned by a Canadian who won't sell on eBay to intl. buyers... Strange. Doesn't take away from the beauty of the dial, thought i would post it here.

Some I have been privileged to own from a company that made some of the best designs in Art Deco - Illinois. (Below: a Marquis and two sizes of Whippet all circa 1930)

My 1925 Gruen, 14k Gold wrist watch, with it's extraodinary history, it was Humphrey Bogart's very personal watch.

Bogey's personal Gruen! Not only is it gorgeous it was owned by one of the best actors ever.

I'd call dibs but I doubt I'd ever be able to afford it.

Some of my favorite deco pieces have enamel bezels - like this Illinois Osgood. According to Illinois expert Fredric Friedberg, only about 10 have been found and only half with blue enamel (the others have black). Mine is unique in that one of its owners had the dial customized with iconography of the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

If i could sell it's stories, to me it's priceless

Longines "invoiced on 30 December 1926 to the company A. Wittnauer Co., which was at that time [Longines's] agent for the United States" in 14k and powered by cal. 9.47N - the only watch I have ever found engraved with my initials:

During this era Ball was not much into wristwatches, but the first Art Deco watch I ever collected happened to be one:

The last watch I posted was a wristwatch from a company that was still more known for its pocket watches at the time (Ball); today, I am sharing a wristwatch made by a company known for its clocks: Seth Thomas. I think the stars as hour markers give it a distinctly American feel, which sets it apart in time from when the Seth Thomas wristwatch name was acquired by Roamer.

@adam78 has some of the most beautiful Art Deco watches around! Maybe we can coax him into showing some of them…

Here's a shot of Grandad's Waltham made in 1924: look at those numerals! Sooooo Art Deco.

Wow! Is there specific name for this type of numbers?

I've seen pw Omega with this kind of numbers but with blue/purple color and importe de suisse at 6.

That's a good question, to which I don't know the answer. I wonder if @Syrte had an idea?
