Bought this 1970 constellation from bags1971 here. Is pretty small compared to my more modern watches but I like it very much....has a couple of scratches etc which just add to its charm....

An Omega Constellation Ref 14902, it's overpolished has the wrong hands and crown but I start to like it.

My first foray into Japanese watches is not a Seiko, but this lovely Citizen 68-0516 World Timer.

What's the issue with the hands? It's early morning in these parts, that's my defense if it's something obvious 馃榿

(congrats!)

Had to buy it, condition is just superb.

I put it on KUKI alcantara strap.

Still glows for a half a minute:

I first saw one of these while reading @Faz's thead about needing a work watch when he took the new career path of long distance trucking. I can't remember if this was the watch he chose, or just one someone else posted as a suggestion, but I do remember thinking and possibly posting that I thought that would be a good idea for a common laborer like me, as I work with my hands, in a hot, humid factory setting. I like the idea of the large bright lume plots and the crown guard. Well, it took me a few months, but my eBay bucks from all those Christmas purchases nearly paid for it. I am going to be happy to have a new, but still automatic and not quartz, quality watch to wear at work.

Great choice! I actually went for the seiko skx007. Simply perfect for the common man. Very satisfying and reliable.

I picked up a Waltham model 92 movement a few weeks ago, parts are rare and it was cheap, so as a source of parts I grabbed it.

But then this Waltham 92 Balance complete drops in my lap...

Yesterdays big find was a 1929 Waltham. A 23j Vanguard adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and six positions, with a wind indicator its about as "railroad" as watches ever got!

Thanks for the question, I don't see any T after the swiss made and the Hands have lume (the dial has none) so I'm assuming they are the wrong ones. What do you think? Thank you

Ah! Okay, I think I see lume cut-outs on the markers, are there none? Missing Ts are wrong/right depending on the year of production 馃榾

Well my latest edition is a bit diverse from my normal purchase but as I love a sub dial I went for this little gem on the January sales !
Its a limited edition of just 100 watches from a UK renowned Jeweller -Mappin and Webb, which traces its roots as a silversmith back to 1775. It displays a round 40mm silver case, with Onion crown, reviving the 20th century tradition of making wristwatches in silver cases. It has a creamy coloured dial and the number 12 highlighted in red are both details directly inspired by the military watches in Mappin & Webb鈥檚 archives, and its historically accurate features - such as the narrow lugs and vintage-style tan leather strap - to delight collectors. The Campaign watch houses an ultra-thin Swiss mechanical hand-wound movement with a generous 42-hour power reserve, presenting the time in an authentic hour, minute and subsidiary seconds configuration across the unique creamy vellum dial.

Oh, just realized you are right. Thanks! Very happy to hear that.馃憤 It's in the 20 Mio range, so probably 1963 . Does the missing T makes sense then? I toughth the missing T is okay for Omegas before 1959-1960, but not sure on that one. Thank you for your help.

Old English steering wheel watch for fun. And a Gruen 770r
I believe I lost that Gruen auction by $1. Nice to know it went to a fellow OF member. Congratulations, great find! I nearly bid on the Citroen watch, as well....I was going to gift it to my mechanic who specializes in vintage Citroen/Maserati. Continued good hunting!
