Today went thrift shop browsing and came away with these 2.
Paid $6.00 each, perhaps I over paid.

The Roamer womens watch has no discernable wear to the case whatsoever which surprised me given it's age, just needed to polish the lens and put a new strap on.

The Buren, well what can I say there is no disguising the extreme wear to the chrome case but there is little wear to the brass case beneath it. The movement is pristine with many watchmakers service marks.
That dial however is all patina, probably to much patina for most but it is what it is.

Both watches are running very well but obviously can do with a service ( which I don't think I will do).
The Buren really is a vintage patina master!
Some will love it but most probably might shy away.

All I have done to both of these watches is polish the lenses and clean the cases.

Bought this today
needs a service , date is stuck . but should clean up very nicely .
one weird thing is that the hour \ minute hands looks steel and the second is golden . maybe bad lighting .
Everything else is original on the watch so would be unlikely that the hands have been changed .

Looks unusually sharp for a gold cap DeVille. Hopefully it’s dirt and not a crack on the back of the 1 o’clock and 5 o’clock lug?

I appreciate that by disclosing this arrival I run the risk of being drummed out of OF but I thought that @peatnick's Pagani looked terrific and I had a look at both the Pagani and the Baltany before opting for this Octopus.

The 36mm dial is ideal for my skinny wrist and the case is 10.5 deep.

The bracelet is very comfortable and well made. It took me about the same time to remove four links as it did to remove the plastic protectors on the case and bracelet.

Edit: Thought I’d add to this post to confirm that the bracelet is capable of micro-adjustment, a pleasing surprise

You made me triple check if theres any cracks , the lightning on the photo made it look like there’s cracks .
on all 4 lugs there’s a small step that made a shadow .

I can’t think where I heard it (probably here) and I’ve never owned a gold cap DeVille so don’t quote me, but I’m sure I’ve read that while the solid steel/gold pieces were machined from a single block of metal, the gold cap versions had the lugs brazed/welded on and as a result they’re more prone to breaking.

They often pop up for sale with missing lug\s , so that supports your saying

Fresh off the plane

I didn't know they offered this in blue (or grey or black for that matter) until I saw it on a European site a couple days ago and now, here it is!

Wanted an oversized vintage chronograph with round pushers for a while and pulled the trigger on this Eterna chronograph powered by Valjoux 71. My favorite combination of golden hardware and steel case, too.

This was delivered today from the local auction site as a "couldn't hurt" purchase at nz$38 (~us$23). The strap literally cost more. And any red/blue themes or trying to balance them out is entirely coincidental...

Yema Diver. Liking it a lot, though it’s rather inexplicably heavy for 39mm.

No buttons to push, no bezels to turn and no date to set !

Very accurate for a mechanical watch. Had it about two weeks now. Happy with that for sure.

Seikomega pairings. The Seikos are month or two arrivals, the Omegas are within the last two weeks.
