inspired by @BAJJ retirement GS, just opened this 1969 Toshiba presentation watch for 25 years service, so the recipient started working there in 1944. GS 4522-8000, beautiful Tanaka design with hi beat 45 movement, which was the base movement for the VFA watches

Bought last night at auction, supposed to be in working order which is always a bonus.

Case back is in excellent condition from the photo, not often the case so I am presuming had not to much wrist time.

Enicar Ref 100/179 Ultrasonic 25 Jewel manual wind which will sport the high grade 1010B movement in gold flash.

The first one of these I have found with a black dial, I have about 5 of these in 21, 23 and 25 jewel configuration but champagne or silver dialled so I jumped at this one.

I'm a math professor and I occasionally give talks on the mathematics of timekeeping. I wanted a watch to display a mechanical movement. For awhile I looked for nice a nice hand wound watch with a displayback, but decided that it was stupid to constrain my watch hunting for that purpose. So I found this lovely piece of horology for $9. It will serve its purpose, but it is really cheaply made. I think I might have overpaid. It's a winner! /s

This just came tonight. My second Speedmaster and it's the current gen Speedmaster Professional with hesalite crystal. I love my 3576.50 with the moonphase but this one is a classic design. I really love the step dial and 3861 movement (hacking seconds is awesome).

I took off the strap and put it on a MN strap.

Last week I purchased my first vintage omega seamaster.

I own a few other german vintage watches with Swiss or German movements. But I stumbled upon a really good offer which I couldn鈥檛 resist. The seamaster 166.010 comes on a 1503 BoR Bracelet which if I am not mistaken isn鈥檛 the right one for a 166.010 but it still suits the watch and is also vintage and not new. So since it鈥檚 from the same time period it doesn鈥檛 bother me at all that it鈥檚 not a 1502 or 1036 BoR.

Before the final payment I got it checked by my local watchmaker and he confirmed to me that the watch is in an really good overall condition for its age. It also keeps time really well.

I am really happy about the purchase and that I finally found my first vintage omega after a few years of looking and waiting for a good deal.

Bought this yesterday, like new vintage Olympic women's watch, keeping perfect time.
Has a quadrant dial but not showing up very well in this photo ( it's a bit subtle unless in bright light).
I have never been able to work out why mens and women's Olympic watches are always cheap, totally nonsensical!

This Enicar arrived in today also, near to perfect case, dial also like new but some small marks on the shiny black dial, no doubt from past services, also working perfectly, daily rate is less than 10 second per day.

Whether it鈥檚 a different kind of lacquer or simply the fact minor surface scratches shown up more against a contrasting black dial, I always find even the mintest black dials seem to show some kind of minor surface scratching when viewed at the right angle
