·Kudos to you for this very nice gesture! They’re fortunate to have a friend like you.
They are my only close friend who is into watches, and it's become a bit of a bonding activity for us (we got some matching Seikos and Moonswatches last year). Hopefully this cheers them up a bit.

··Sunburst dial fanAwful Seller’s photos, but I’ve taken a chance and despite my understandable concerns about the eBay 'private listing - bidder identity protected', I’ve taken a chance.
Obviously, these are the ‘before' photos but the Seller says, ‘it’s running and keeps good time', and offers 14 days return, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Oh, and it came in at £330, which I thought was about right.
Well, it arrived and as promised, had an Omega buckle and, what I assume may have been an original (but damaged) Omega strap.
A bit of a clean up and a new strap. The watch runs accurately and although it’s still on its trial run, all the bits seem to work on that 1250 hummer.
The case edges are sharp as new, as is the brushing. The dial looks like new.
So, pretty happy so far ….. 😀

··Burt Macklin, FBIMy personal Bulova instigator struck again. Sent me a link to an eBay ad and called it a diamond in the rough. There was only one bid on it for the entire duration of the auction and I waited until the last second to place mine. Surprisingly the first bid was low and I ultimately won it for several dollars more than it started. The original bracelet is in good shape but still needs a deep clean. Bleh...
