I just bought this..the watch looks nice with original leather band and buckle but sadly when I tried to adjust it, the crown came out all the way and when I look better of the watch I seen that the dial it is not properly align. I hope I will solve the problem and to enjoy the watch..😀

Just back from my Watchmaker after a service, now I need find in order of importance another 24 slot watch box ( maybe 2 as I have about 18 waiting a spot) and then a new appropriate strap.

1997 Breitling Colt A17035 arrived on Tuesday via Ebay.
It came with box and papers as advertised but the 3 spare and unused link were a bonus.
The pics didn't do the watch justice and I bought a polishing cloth and different grades of wet and dry to attack the bracelet which I now won't need.
The watch is also keeping great time which is another bonus.

Always had a fancy for a Dan Henry microbrand, and this DH Gran Turismo 1964 was on offer on the Bay.

Well, it has arrived my pre-owned Dan Henry 1964 Gran Turismo and looks very nice. It’s my first meca-quartz watch and it has a Seiko VK63 movement.

I’ve been reading up on it and apparently Dan Henry only made 1964 of these and each are uniquely and successively numbered on the caseback. This one being 17**-1964.

I have some mild scepticism about caseback serial numbers given the proliferation of fake Oris Big Crown Pilots a few years back all numbered '26-58574’. That said, these Gran Turismos are so competitively priced, it wouldn’t be worth anyone's while to fake one of them.

Although it has a black dial, the coating on the crystal can make the dial look blue in different light conditions.

Nice one @Spruce 😀 Makes me want to purchase a DH quartz as a vintagy beater watch.
Actually, almost too nice to be a beater - although that was in my mind when I bought it - and these won’t break the bank - even new.

A new beater too

Kinda funny tachy bezel though.

Argos clerk asked if I'd like extended warranty -- at £19.99 if it goes wrong It gets floatation tested. Hmm there might be enough air in there to keep it afloat, what then?

I'm building a collection of chronos from the last tritium decades, roughly 1975 - 1995... Because why not? , and nobody wants them, so not much competition and no ludicrous prices.

Found this in a junk shop and although I only bought one quartz watch ever (a Constellation), I could not resist the bakelite bezel, overall condition and patina. Apparently it dates to 1989.
