Arrived in this morning, my WM has already worked his service magic, so here it is now running perfectly with some optical magic as well.
I must say that in the flesh it looks wonderful much better than my photos, my wifes eyes sort of bugged out when she first saw it untouched by my WM, she was well impressed but after the work was done she was even more impressed.
Big gaudy and bright in that late 60's 70's style.

Couldnt find to much info on them unfortunatly https://largevintagewatches.blogspot.com/2014/11/same-chunky-cushion-watch-case.html

After hunting for almost two years, I finally snagged an IWC Ingenieur 666A on Gay Fr猫res bracelet! Thanks to @MikeMan2727 and @Tony C. for sharing their expertise and helping me dodge a few bullets along my journey.
It was also my first experience buying direct in Japan through proxy: stressful at times (Google translate can only do so much) but worked out great in the end.
I'm stoked 馃榿

Sadly, last year we lost a long-time member of our local watch and clock club. I just returned from his home where I acquired a couple of his wristwatches from his widow. He bought these watches new in 1952 (IWC) and 1953 (Eterna), respectively. Both are quite well-preserved.

IWC on GF bracelet with cal 852 purchased for the equivalent of $80 in Zurich in 1952. Smallish, but a lovely no-lume dial with very interesting markers.

Eterna chronograph (Valjoux 22) in a 38mm screw-back case. I have not seen many of these. Purchased for the equivalent of $65 in Zurich in 1953. SS case with really lovely aged lume.

@Dan S Sorry for your loss.

These are two fabulous watches in exceptional condition. The original owner had great taste! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I'm happy to have them. In fact, he was really more of a PW aficionado. I believe he had a PP repeater that has been passed along to another club member.

My general assumption with regard to PW aficionados is that they appreciate movements. I like to think that, as wristwatches go, these two would pass muster.

I had almost given up the hunt for a correct 3 register big sub when last week out of nowhere I got the opportunity to purchase one. Funny how sometimes you find the things you are most interested when you aren鈥檛 really looking.

Just bought this Edox automatic this morning, perfect working order, original crown and strap, from 1974. Just $5.00, needs a lens polish / replacement and maybe a service.

What a difference a day makes, took it for an eye operation at my WM this morning, so much better.

Had a look inside last night before sending it off to my WM and found a lovely ETA 2790.
Not a speck of dust or dirt and running beautifully.
My WM replaced the seal this afternoon as to polish it he had to remove the movement to get the lens out.
All in all $5.00 well spent.

This morning's purchase and arrival, the sellers photos were really not very good, terrible and I was a bit hesitant as his description wasn't to informative other than in working order but not keeping the best of time.

From his photos it could have been a women's or mid size but the price was good so I took the gamble and in the event I did very well it being a full sized man's Nivada with original signed crown.

Just needs a lens change and a service, monetarily I have come out well on top on this purchase.

New to me Wittnauer 8023-241T, arrived this past Friday. Will need a service and a new crystal but would ya just look at that dial! Unfortunately the case is in rough shape, but luckily I have another non-working 8023 with a great case that I will be able to swap the complete movement over to for a restored complete timepiece.
