I suspect it's gauche to talk prices, but can I get some validation that picking this up (with it's original 1170/618 bracelet) for under us$1000 was a good deal? Currently at my watchmaker getting the crystal gouges buffed out...
Crystal: polished. Owner: happy. Especially when the watchmaker asked if I wanted to sell it to him! The weirdly monochrome effect is growing on me, and the alternating layers of radial and circular brushing is really obvious now.

No-lume ref 2846 (cal 501) from 1956. This will make a nice starter piece for someone who likes a watch that shows some age.

Just purchased this off the local auction site this morning, not seen one like it before and really dont know much about Rotary watches and their values but it was a reasonable price and ticked many collecting boxes as you will probably agree.
Rotary Automatic Super Compressor 41 jewels, a Super 41, whatever that is 😀

Sellers photos, hopefully it will be here before Christmas

Had this a few weeks.
Unfortunately I don’t think the crystal is salvageable but it will be going for a service in the new year.

This arrived in today, was meant to be fully functional but on arrival the stem pulled out of the case when trying to set the time, contacted the seller who assured me it was working prior to shipment and to return it for a refund.

I declined as the case and dial were in excellent condition and these are pretty rare and hard to find, the big plus is that they have a wonderful ETA movement inside an ETA 2472, haven't opened it myself and checked but I have another near identical one in not so good cosmetic condition which is what prompted me to buy this one as I am unlikely to see another again.

The other big plus was the strap that it came on, its really nice and a cut above most of the straps that generally come on vintage watches, a Copax with a Speidel buckle, all as new and probably worth close to or more than what I paid for the watch alone.

Unfortunately my WM closed for Christmas holidays today so I was a bit downhearted as would have to wait till he gets back later in the new year so I texted him asking when he would be back on deck, he texted back come down now ( 7.15 PM ) so I did and he fixed it on the spot! just a screw that had come loose in transit no charge !
What a Christmas gift lol.

Merry Christmas all.

Christmas. I’m over the moon with this Laco. The AR is amazing, the sterile dial is sublime and so legible, the hands are perfectly blued and sharp.

Found this in a “recycle shop” here in Japan. Picked it up today. Couldn’t be more pleased with it.

Just bought off a local auction site.

44mm case Le Royal, World Time and Dive watch for those diving on a wreck and you just want to know the time in Panama, Hawaii or Rome, as you do.

Looks like a super compressor case.

Sellers pics.
