I just received a giant care package from @janice&fred. They were having a fire sale on some fun vintage pieces, and I just couldn't say no:

Not sure how/where I'm going to store all of these. I have a couple friends who have been getting into vintage watches, so a few of these might end up being presents (I think one of them is already eyeing the little Hamilton). But, the vintage skin divers stay with me. 馃槈

This beauty arrived by post this morning. Must be one of the last remaining Seamaster 1957 Trilogy in UK Omega dealers. Was after one of these for some time, decided to take the plunge! Definitely a keeper. I love it's simplicity and 39mm size.

This..

Now need to find a different (not red) strap - just not sure what colors will work given the crisp white hands/markers and red text

Those 2 ones came in last week 馃榾
They have been on my list for 2 years, so very happy to have found nice & decent examples.

Only have to look for nice straps to match those 馃榾

WW1 US Army Corps of Engineers pocket watch I collect mainly military so if the price is right I will buy a military pocket watch there cheaper than some of the military issued wristwatches I buy once in a while.

Got the call yesterday, picked it up today. The real comfort-test for the strap will be when it's scorching hot outside, which it should be pretty soon. Have to say, was very skeptical about a rubber strap, but if an hour's worth of wearing inside an air conditioned house is any sample size to judge by, so far so good! 馃槈

Lume does not show any issues at all, as reported by a YouTuber (can't recall channel name) and the 324 movement is a workhorse for Patek, and insanely accurate, at least it is in my 5227 (~+1s/d).

I literally still can't believe this was allocated to me. Over the moon right now.

Congratulations. Both are keepers... Wear it in good health. Regards

The other day I was trying to recollect what were the first watches I owned. Initially, three came to mind: a Timex "Marlin" I received for my tenth or eleventh birthday; a 1937 Waltham tank my dad wore in high school which he gave me when I was around twelve (unfortunately stolen from my apartment in NYC in the '90s); and a Movado "Acvatic" that my dad wore during WWII, which he also gifted to me when I was around twelve. Through the fog of many years passed, I began to remember a green plastic "Davey Crockett" watch I used to keep in my tin "treasure box" when I was six or seven years old. I can't remember what happened to it. I went online looking for one, and found the one below, which I promptly bought. When it arrived I noted that the seller was from a town right next to the one I grew up in. Who knows, my mother probably sold my "Davey Crockett" at a garage sale in the 1970s when I was away at college, and I probably just bought it back....I would like to think so.
