I've paid more for single malt Scotch so I consider this a bargain.
The bracelet had an extremely good mirror finish, which didn't suit my intentions of using it as a tool watch, so I re-brushed the bracelet on a nylon grit wheel.
Not sure if I should do the bezel as well?

路Picked up this guy a couple of days ago. Im pretty sure it is a ref 2639 ( correct me if Im wrong ). Crown is stuck, the crystal has some scratches. I just dropped it of at the watchmakers for a treatment to correct the deviations 馃榾

I managed to set the date by pulling the crown but I have no clue how to set the day (movement 1501K)
I know this is years late... I inherited this watch from my dad. He died maybe 10 years ago. I was visiting a jewelry shop my grandpa used to own, and they brought me out this watch from a safe. Do you know any more details about it?

The seller was frank about the defects (which appear minimal), said, in response to my query about servicing, that it had been 'overhauled' in March and sent me a copy of the service assessment (in English and Japanese).
Anyway, it鈥檚 just what I wanted and (I think) as nice as I鈥檇 hoped.
