Good choice - try some Polywatch on the crystal
Thanks 😀 I’ll try it and I’ll change this generic strap as well 😀

I have a question for the group, I recently purchased the Seamaster Pro that I posted pictures of a few days ago and want to know whether or not I should bother with having it checked for authenticity? If so, what is involved with that? Would I have to send it to Omega or would any watchmaker be able to do that and reseal it so it is waterproof? (sending it to Omega seems like overkill)
I don't know the seller but we've spoken several times both on the phone and through texts and I have no reason to believe he'd sell a replica. He deals in high-end watches and although I didn't buy it through eBay he does have an extensive eBay profile and has maintained a 100% seller rating for many years.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you

What’s his reputation like? It’s vital to check and double check that before buying...

Very good from what I can see. He has 2198 positive reviews and a 100% feedback rating on eBay. He's sent me 4 videos showing different watches from his home in Florida, he's called me several times to discuss everything from watch sales to his dating life and recent medical procedures.
I don't have any reason to doubt it's authentic or to doubt his intentions. I'm just wondering what is standard? If it all checks out as it seems to, should I bother with sending it off to have it authenticated? And if so is Omega the only place I could send it? I've used the same watchmaker for years and he's very good but I've only ever had vintage watches (Omega, Tudor, Longines, etc....) so I'm not sure what a watch this new with a depth rating like this will require once the case back is removed for authentication.

Of the movement? If you're suggesting I take a pic of the movement I can't unless I open it which goes back to my original question. If the case back is removed how can I get it back on and ensure that it is waterproof?

I guess that the watch only. The seller seems to have a good reputation. If the dial and case pass the smell test, I'm pretty sure there won't be any issues with the movement

Sounds good! If he was a high rep dealer then I'm guessing you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Doubt they would want to stake their rep on 1 watch. 😀

My latest watch just arrived from the watchmaker from service.
It is a Girard Perrigaux Olimpico 9238 FA, produced at the time of the Montreal Olympics. As can be noticed from (the dark) pictures there is a hand wound Valjoux 726 inside. It has had a hard life, but it just means that I can wear it regularly with normal care 😀.

This arrived last night, took it off the bracelet and onto an Omega strap with deployant until I can get the bracelet sized. Giving it a good road trip to Berlin for the test drive.
thanks @ctpete!
